I’ve only really came across 1 invisible wall that was a pain in thekitten I have no idea why it was there at all.

I agree this is a reason why i hate this game, there are invisible walls everywhere… also, you can’t climb small hills.

The only thing worse than invisible walls are the cracks in the environment you get stuck in and cannot get out of…except, of course, by using the way point function.

/stuck does not work for me in this game no matter how hard I try it. So I have spent more coin on way points to get unstuck than I care to think about…most recently I got stuck in the terrain in the new Southsun region while exploring.

Then I got spotted by the Karka there who decided I would be a good meal for it. lol…what a mess. Once in combat mode, you just cannot way point out. Too bad I was not invulnerable to that mob.

Then to add insult to injury, costs for repairs on top of way point costs. At least with invisible walls, I can usually find another way around without the added costs.

Starting with Dark Age of Camelot it has always been a hobby of mine to try to get to the “edge of the map”. There is nothing to be gained from it – usually it just costs you money for porting (when you get stuck or fall to your death). I just like to get to places the game does not want me to get to (by normal game functions and smart jumping, not by cheating in any way).

Once in a while you find places that you cannot get to by any normal means, that were clearly intended to be “something” at some point. Of course such finds are the most rewarding

It gets problematic if the path you discover can be used as a shortcut, giving you a benefit over other players (less porting cost, quicker traveling or avoiding mobs you normally would have to fight in order to get where you want to go). The possibility of this is very slim in GW2 though, as you cannot get from map to map like in some other games. If you arrive at the edge of the map, the only thing you see is a deep drop down to water level and a whole lot of nothingness, not the adjacent area.

I also hate invisible walls. I am an explorer, and I run into them in this game all the time just looking for alternate routes. It just screams “lazy” to me… is it that hard to put up a real wall there?

Yes this game has tons of invisible walls and they’re the worst thing that can happen to any explorer type of player. Because of invisible walls, you can’t get on top of anything in this game, only if it’s a vista and even then you have to follow the exact path that the devs intended you to run on, or you hit another impenetrable piece of air.

Seems like a lot of effort to get ones point across, but it was well made regardless.

I see no reason for invisible walls in games, all it takes is a little imagination on the part of the world designers and we can have a legitimate visually pleasing reason that we are unable to travel in a specific direction.

At first I thought it was crap, but then I figured out that it was all cleverly done to the ’Can’t Touch This’ tune, and now I think it’s genius. Not Even my own version of Bohemian Rhapsody could compare to this. You are the master lyricist of the week. Your prize??? The gratification of knowing you are a great lyricist.
