i suppose the question needs to be raised now since someone has done this already: does this count as a “complete” solo, or just a “partial” solo? granted, the only part he required help with was the lasers, and he solo’d everything else just fine. To be fair though, no one has found a way around the lasers solo, and i would be very surprised to see something like that without major exploits.

All CoE solos get “excluding laser-trap” by default.

the 1 major exploit to skip the door past the lazer room to get to the boss was fixed about a month ago. It is no longer possible to solo your way past the lazers.

When people duo their way to lupi but solos the boss, nobody complains that it wasn’t a true solo b/c the 2nd guy didn’t try to help. Why is this even a problem? Same thing if someone tried soloing CoF 1? They do everything (including the rolling boulders (or maybe jus 2 of them)) but get 4 people to stand in the flame pots. Even if the guy soloed the effigy and everything else why is it that people would find a reason to pick it apart and complain about it?

It’s not really same thing. If you claim about soloing a boss that includes nothing about the rest of the dungeon. When you claim about soloing a dungeon that includes the whole deal.
Now in this case it may feel bit stupid because it’s obvious no one could do it. But in other cases it’s not that clear what should be considered a “full” solo. All this can be by-passed if we call everything solo and tell which parts were excluded.

Devona’s Rest CoE is often contested with no one around (and I bet a lot of the other high population servers are in a similar position. (Personally I’ve tried it to unlock CoE and can’t keep him agroed at all, but necros don’t have a lot of mobility. I’d be impressed to see someone do it though.)

Thanks! I bet you could do it though. Assuming a well placed flesh wurm could keep agro then you’d be set. I guarantee ranger would have the easiest time soloing it though. Place a trap at each far end to stop him from resetting then just walk on over and win.

I like that you knew when to drop banner in Battleground Frac, I died a few times to what i thought was a “random” whirlwind. Makes me wanna start soloing again, got hooked on pvp a couple weeks ago.

Just ran HotW 1 solo on my Thief, only to crash mid-fight with the Butcher and lose all the footage :‘( I’ll upload the video of the Butcher soon, though. No way I can prove the events prior, so it’s just a boss solo for now, I guess.

oh my p3? Every time I did the ritual solo I’d walk in the circle then out immediately then the wraits would run past me to contest it then back out. Didn’t matter what I used, Shadowsteps or anything, they’d always contest it. Time to see how you did it.

so you basically were able to keep 1 uncontested with warrior isms then rotated between the other 2… good to know. Still wish that part wasn’t fast forwarded but w/e

Most of the Mesmer solo stuff is done with berserker GS builds, after soloing her I decided to try with a condition build to see how it went

bear in mind, i wasn’t entirely awake for the run, and i’ve had little to no practice, save for watching some of the other solos. so forgive the fail…….

Posted a long version of my HotW P1 Thief solo run, with minimal speedups so you can see the big fights in better detail. Whether you want to include it is up to you, it’s just an aesthetic difference really.

@random: I guess faster is better. Shorter video probably makes watching it more attractive.

Waiting to see who gets the new dungeon solo first, I didn’t see anything that needed more than 1 person to do it. I can say that the final boss was a pretty easy solo ( my whole team died on phase 1 right off the start, after I finished phase 1 they all spawned and then all died again at start of phase 2)

The only hard part I saw was that the argo was weird, there were adds that weren’t even close together but were tied together. Good luck
