Wow that looks amazing! This is on of the reasons I enjoy doing this kind of thing, there are just so many places and things you can miss. Moo cube do you mind if I make a suggestion? I think that would be so much better it you frame it better. What I mean is more of the subject in the shot and less of the wall to the right. Could be a winner with that!

Yeah I went through my existing screenshots of 1500 images, but yeah, I think it might be worth going back and reshooting it. I find it hard to frame the shots sometimes with how it keeps your character centred… might play with the character offset…

We had lots of submissions in our guild this week and as I said there – the scope of industry present across the game world in Guild Wars 2 is vast and no mistake. Here are the winning shots from this week.
This week (four days) we will be looking at flowers!
So I obviously spend a lot of time looking at the environments in this game and one thing that has always struck me is the sheer variety of plants and flowers that grow on them. I can’t ever remember seeing a flower in one area and thinking ‘oh they are the ones from that other area’.
Id also like to stay away from trees for now and they could be a viable theme in the future. Here are a few I’ve snapped while on my travels. Lets see what we can find!

So the winner for this week, just made it Defora well done! I’ve got lots of pictures of these windmills and the surrounding flowers and corn fields. It’s a really well framed shot and the rule of thirds hard at work.

I’m planning on being on time this week so Monday morning I’ll judge the winner. Don’t forget it’s not really about the winning but seeing what others have found.
In terms of finding sunsets, I really couldn’t tell you times of day. I kinda just see them on my travels. I’ll post a few more up for inspiration.
Here is picture from Frostgorge Sound – Talabaroop Waves. I am not sure is this morning or evening light. I will try to get better pic of sunset.
The day/night cycle lasts 2 hours with 80 minutes of day and 40 minutes of night.
Second picture is not mine and is not part of this competition. Yesterday I arrived to Queensdale when sun was rising. I spent whole "day " waiting for sunset since I saw that picture on internet. Result is: Queensdale’s sunset does not look like that, there is no redness in the horizon. I don’t know is that picture modified or were things different in beta.
Black Citadel has nice sunset. Went there and took some pictures.
1. Charrs are having late night meeting (note the gravity ignoring rolls on the table XD)
2. At the next door some charrs are doing research, etc.
3. Outside view.
Edit: noticed the rules say 1 pic per person. I will leave the Frostgorge pic for that since it was the first that I posted. These Black Citadel pictures are outside… maybe someone can find them as inspiration or something.
I think the shot that best covers this weeks theme is this one although I also think our shots are awesome Defora!
I’ve always thought the lighting around the Char areas looks stunning, many have a late summer kind of glow. I also love the red hues in the command rooms as the light comes through the glass and have taken pictures there myself.
Anyway back to the winning shot, well done, it’s a lovely image and even though you can’t see the sun I like how your do look like your about to embark on a long journey.

Into the Abyss
As I’m sure most of you will have had the odd swim in the sea. I’m one of these players who loves to dive deep and see what I can find. It was the same in Warcraft, the oceans were not even in the same league in terms of oceanic detail but never the less I did love to look.
In Guild Wars 2 I feel like we have been utterly spoiled in this respect. I have lost count of the amount if places I have found in the depths, places that have had much time lavished on them and as a result feel special in their own right.
In some ways I dislike the ability to have infinite air, the deep feels to reachable. In fact I intend to do a post in suggestions about this very subject. Anyhow I digress.
So this week I want to feel like I’m deep under the waves, looking into the dark (or light) of the murky depths.
Here’s a few of my own shots. Good luck everyone and tell your friends about this thread, the more people the better as we all see something we’ve never seen before.
So far we have looked at very tangible themes, waterfalls, sunsets etc.
With that in mind I’d like to start throwing in a few, more emotional themes. These are going to be trying to capture a feeling rather than looking for something definite.
So this week I want you to focus on loneliness.
Of course with less concrete boundaries your imagination can have more free reign, looking forward to seeing what you find. As always please tell your friends and guild mates to have a go at this, the more pictures we can see the better!
