Guild Wars 2

This post is about The Quaggan statue that I made and within it apology letter to all GW community

Hey

My name is Joonas and I am young artist from Finland.

This unique sleeping Quaggan statue is my first and as it seems unfortunately my last metalwork about Guild Wars universe (look at attachments bellow)

The statue Itself is made of aluminium and I painted it with transparent paint, so the shine you can see is the aluminiums natural shine.
It weights about 1,6kg (3.5 lbs)
- length from toes to head 14,5cm ( 5.7 inches)
- wais width about 6,5cm (2.6 inches)
- length from forehead to back 9,5cm (3.7 inches)

This piece of art is only one of its kind from me (sadly) and I would really love to make more of staues from Guild Wars universe but I cant.

I started wax model of this work in December 2012 and my plan was to finish whole thing in January 2013 , but unfortunate event happened in early days of January

What happened was: My gaming account of Guild Wars 2 was banned . I was by mistake part of that unfortunate event of snowflake salvage thing.

Back then I did try Guild Wars 2 support but the answer was: we don’t care.
I even wrote a long letter where I explained that I did not know that it was exploit with great details….the answer was the same: we don’t care.

With this Quaggan statue I want to apogy every Guild Wars 2 community member that I was part of snowflake event that inflicted economy havoc back then, I had no idea what I was doing.

Back then I hadn’t took any Screens of Quaggan and ban was out from the blue. .. However I wanted to finish this project where I had put so much time and love ,so I had to buy new account in order to complete it.

Why I say this is most likely my last piece of Guild Wars art (even if I have new account). There is couple reasons:

First, I don’t enjoy making art releated to the company whose people cannot give forgiveness to simple Human error.

Secondly, I cannot bring myself to play anymore (even my ´secondary´ account) because I lost everything of my Main account. My reserved Guild Wars names..HoM rewards…My new made in game friends…And My newly made characters and memories that I had made in GW1 and in GW2.
Thinking all that makes me feel sad and I can’t bring myself to play.(and to make more works releated to GW…)

The only reasons why I finished this statue was to show my respect to Guild Wars 2 artists and character desingers whom inspired me. And to show My apology of what happened in December.

I hope this apology letter would cause reassessment of the issue,because I would love to make new pieces of art about GW universe.
As it seems, It is really sad that the Guild Wars 2 Community have lost promising artist this way.

Woah, that is a really cool, and much more substantial piece of fan artwork than about 99% of what I’ve seen. Sorry to hear its your last piece of Guild Wars related artwork because there is some room for improvement, and chances to make some really awesome stuff!

As far as the other stuff goes. That really sucks. If you knowingly did it, I hope you learned the lesson, and in the future when playing games like these, you immediately hit the bug report button on the slightest sense of an exploit. If it’s that much more awesome than making money other ways, it’s probably something that will get you banned.

Idd I have learned. You know the saying “Curiosity killed the cat”, in this case it killed my account.
I just like to explore and try different ways and connect different materials and ways together, creating something great and new that wasn’t there before. And because of this I loved the GW2 that allowed me to explore different architectures, cultures, puzzles and enjoy good writen story.
This why I said that I made the Quaggan statue to show my respect of GW2 art team.

However now I cannot anymore explore “The World of Tyria” with same passion that I did before. In my experince ,who knows that I might again find something that was not mentioned to be and get perma banned again.(even if I report it,as far I know they ban me just because I found it…)
Like I said, this is sad way to part away with amazing gameworld

well.. first of all i want to say i realyl love your quaggan…
secondly, each time i read a story about being unrightfully banned makes me sad really sad.
i could write a whole book about how dissapointed i am by arenanet banning people.. but i would basically be quoting the countless people whow ere banned on the forums, so ill try to stop being sad for now.
im not some hardcore gamer, i dont even know what the word “exploit” means, the only game that i played for more than 100 hours (i actually have more than 1500 now) and enjoyed all the time was gw2… that said, i can relate to people who got banned due to snowflakes, and i wouldve felt absolutely terrible.. maybe evne soemthing ill never forget, and im not exxagerating.
in my oppinion arenanet should send you a “were sorry” letter, they really should.
i spend a big part of my free time on gw2 and im sure there are many others who do… losing something taht brings so much joy would just be terrible.
its really stupid they dont even give you a second chance, or just remove all items that were created from the exploit… or even warn players of what “exploit” means. wheni read about teh bans for snowflakes i actually got scared i exploited by accident…
people tell me to not be afraid of the system when im doing nothing wrong, but if things like this are happening, i just dont know if im doing nothing wrong…

i hope i dont get banned for being really sad where other people can see it

im going to stop now and see if i can still enjoy my free time with all this sadness
