Hey Arena.net, from Beta HoT to actually playing HoT I’ve loved the Daredevil Specialization for Thieves, but I know HoT isn’t the only expansion you’ll be making so I sat down and thought of a Specialization for your next expansion. Sniper. Thieves will get the Rifle for this Specialization, the main, (auto) attack for this weapon would have a 1,500 range much like the Longbow for Rangers. The first skill [Quickscope] would inflict vulnerability for 2 seconds and deal small damage, the second skill [Smoke Round] would inflict blindness for 5 seconds and bleeding for 2 1/2 with a small but fair length recharge. 3rd skill [Desperate Getaway] makes the thief shoot a minimum damage shot and would stealth the thief for 3 seconds and cause them to evade backwards at a distance of 100 with a large length recharge. 4th skill [Stomach Snipe] would knock down the target if it was in a a 600 range; the knockback would be small and the skill would have a large recharge. 5th skill [Full Round] would cause you to stun the enemy for 1 second whilst firing 3 shots at your target each dealing medium damage after this shot the Thief must reload the rifle taking an extra second of channeling. This specialization would be very slow due to it’s recharge and its special attacks would likely have channeling times that require it to be a decent distance away of course the first skill would not have a channeling time. Of course this would be EXTREMELY weak to stuns and melee, (warriors, your time has come) and for the traits it would increase i’d suggest making them Expertise and Power. The rifle is harder to pin. I’m imagining something like The Predator except more practicle. A bit smarter of a sniper rifle, and the sound would be different as it shot, being muffled. The new utility skill type would be “Marks”. Marks are inflicted on enemies, when these enemies are hit a different effect is applied. I’ll let you decide if you want to build on the specialization for the next GW2 expansion. Thats all I got, the rest is yours.
