Guild Wars 2

This is my first post, normally I keep to myself and just enjoy the games that ArenaNet has created for us. Recently there has been a lot of positive press on the HOT expansion from many sources; however, when I found that one of my favorite gaming networks was not included with a press kit I felt the need to share support for this organization that has been around since Guild Wars 1.

The Gaming World Entertainment Network has regular events in Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2. They give positive feedback to their listeners and create a sense of community by running weekly events on lore and giving out prizes. They also support humanitarian efforts for cancer and MS research as part of their donation efforts. Most recently they ran their Pink Day In LA event which raised over $15,000 in donations (http://pinkday.gamergivingback.com/). The network also supports a model to team players together in addressing harder content in the game. All this and they do it for free because they love the game that much.

I strongly recommended that ArenaNet include them in their press kit by reaching out to : admin@gw-en.com or bluelogic@hotmail.com.

Not I feel bad about site you post but GW2 discussion forum is for post about game play and not web site promote. If people post about web site here all time then it would be spam with it to promote web site and this not what this part of forum for.

This isn’t about community created content, it’s about a site who are a big part of the GW2 community and who have hosted a lot of very well known events within GW1 and 2 and do a lot to give back to important causes. I think it’s perfectly appropriate for this post to remain in the general discussion forum…

gw-en is brilliant – even when fundraising events are not going, they continue promoting GW2 & GW – bringing community members on air (I’ve been on several times) to chat. They regularly run contests and give away prizes to players in both games. And the music they play is pretty darn good too.

I am posting this because they are not treated as Press. They are not given press items or announcements or the expansions. How can they do reviews for HoT? How can they keep up with content if they don’t have access to the game.
