Yup, this has been known about and talked about on the forums since the game released, and Anet has not said anything about it. All SweetFX does is add post processing effects onto the game.

I used loads of different variations with it but I think most of the time I was just using the effects because they were there. Now I just use AA, a bit of sharpening (too much gives a shimmering effect) and a little DPX.

If people get this for the color do this before you try it

ATI cards : ccc>my digital flat panels> display color > color correction > saturation (130-160 recomended)

Nvidia : google Digital Vibrancy

As much color modding as you want with no extra post process.

That color saturation looks very unrealistic.

Then again our eyes respond heavily to the color red more than any other color.

SweetFX is awesome.

Don’t worry about the color so much guys. You can set it to whatever you want. It doesn’t auto saturate everything by default. Those are just other player’s personal presets they have made. Heck, you could make it black and white if you wanted.

Fiddle with the settings yourself to find the right setting for you.

I use it but not for “wacky settings” but anti aliasing. FXAA given by anet is the worst AA i’ve ever seen in a video game, blur fest maximus.

I know someone who was banned for using it. They said a ‘3rd party program’ and that was the ONLY one they had running. So… use at your own risk. =)

I been using this for long long time, makes the game shading actually look kitten good. Only time I turn it off is in large zergs. This is allowed as its not modding kitten, you are not gaining advantage or anything like that.

Shouldn’t AN just see how popular it is and just add similar features in the graphics tab? Half the players never get to enjoy it because they’ll be worried it’s disallowed.

Yeah, this isn’t true at all. He did have something else running, he just didn’t tell you.

“Does this program allow someone to play faster, better, longer, or more accurately than someone who doesn’t use it?”
“Does this program allow someone to ‘play’ when he/she is not at the computer?”
“Does this program allow the user to gain undeserved rewards?”

You cannot say yes to any of that, not even a maybe for SweetFX. He didn’t get banned for SweetFX, he got banned for something else and he isn’t telling you what it really is.

Haha, my friend said he got banned for using it, but I swear I saw him fly to the end of the Southsun geyser JP.

Im not a graphic guy, other than the tint changing it all looks the same to me.

If you use it you can turn it on/off while the games running by pressing the Scroll Lock key to see before/after. That link I posted a few posts up, a lot of the screenshots have a slider bar on them that allows you to see a comparison.

If you use the slider on that screenie you can see the sharpening and it looks less foggy and washed out. You can do more than that if you want, just posting it as an example
