really undecided on the second pet tho. I’m constantly rotating between a few pets for the slot alongside the obvious Smokescale.

A little bit of both, maybe! I was enjoying SAB and decided to go roaming when I realized just how much I missed it, so I hit the forums to pick up some ideas.

Love your choice of music in the video, by the way. Very funny.

I quite GW2 shortly after HOT and I just came back. Was thinking HARD about picking up my Ranger or my Necro. This sealed the deal for me. This was freaking awesome, great job. Going to see if I can make this work for me. All I do is solo roaming so I need a build that’s built for it and this seems to fit the bill. Has anything changed in yoru build since you posted this? Don’t want to copy cat but looking for more guidance than anything else. Thank you for sharing.

Yes i changed a few things since i uploaded the Vid, still testing these changes tho. All in all i went more offensive, which made me dropping Natural Stride for Celestial Shadow, and that on the other Hands leads to a new Problem → lacking Movementspeed, so yeah, still brainstorming what to do about this.

Really loved your video! I’m wondering though, do you have trouble with those condi/zerker warriors? I started out playing a ranger but recently changed over to a s/s + LB condi warrior and have been doing much better in roaming. Perhaps I lacked the true ranger skill.

Condi warrior is a draw ususally, cause they are easy to kite, but it’s super hard pressure because you need to kite ^^.
Zerk warr is a different story tho, because the zerk warr build got a few variations in WvW
i’ll just list what i feel is really strong vs ranger:

1. Mace/Shield
2. RR or LS (equally bad)
3. Eternal champion

I haven’t found a way to kill a competent warr who runs all of the above (basically PvP meta). If they run none of the above, you just have to wach out for their CC chains and you should be doable. With every point they check on this list, it’ll get harder for you tho ^^

I’ve been running your build with the GS and a few changes in PvP and it’s freaking amazing! I think it’s really funny to end the match with the top healing award while only using it as a secondary support. While the damage isn’t as high as my normal zerker build, the survival is MUCH better!

I wish it just wasn’t so hard to make this work in WvW as I don’t have the zelot’s weapons right now.

Ugh just reading this sends me into a frenzy about how dumb roaming wars are. What is the point of me even playing if 100% full glass cannon ascended gear can’t even scratch these things. I just ignore them and they can waste their time chasing me if they feel like it.

The other day I was tagging along with a competent guild group of about 7 and all of us combined couldn’t kill the stupid warrior harassing us.

Every day I wish they had PvP amulets instead of gear for WvW; that would at least be a start.

If possible, can you take a look at this build below? It doesn’t have as much crit damage as yours does but it does grant some crazy regen/healing. I’m using something similar to this in PvP and it’s pretty amazing so far.

Yeah you can definetly play this one, it’s a more defensive Variation, and i guess there will be a few more bulky roaming builds you will get trouble breaking through, which will result in an endless fight (that’s the reason i chose to go more offensive that is), but
if you do good with your gear of choice, who am I to judge it. I don’t know your playstyle at all =), so if the more defensive gear suits your playstyle best, rock it.

The only real “critique” i could bring on is, that with the 15 sec CD of CA in WvW Dolyak rune OR Mango Pie is enough to use it on CD, so you should consider dropping one of the two for either a better defensive or offensive rune/food.

rarely ever, and if i do i usually just roll with the meta battle build because I’m really lacking experience in PvP to be creative there.

Yeah Melandru rune would definetly work with it, Durability rune would be a great option too (I mean, it always is, that one is stupid good), or Snowfall rune? Trolling people by falling down all the cliffs and surviving? (jk).
but yeah Melandru and Durability would be my top toughness runes aw
