Void Jumping Every map
Many of Scoot’s VJs were patched out. We went back through and void jumped all Tyria PVE maps including HoT …yes even Dry Top and Auric Basin. Our playlist has roughly 66 videos.
The one given below shows void jumping Dragon Stand.

Enjoy and Best Wishes,

Does anyone know if the way to void jump to the top of the Priory mountain was patched out? There was a really long glide across the map if you got up there.
ANet may give it to you.
I wish they would make map breakouts an achievement. They could hide special chests or hidden nodes in places that you have to break out of the map to find. Find 10 different ones for an achievement, title and mastery point.
Any suggestions on a title name for that kind of achievement?
Above and Beyond.
Cartographic Shatterer.
Void Traveler.
Here There Be Dragons.
Edge Runner.
etc etc etc
Well, if you get suspended from the game for void jumping, how about the title: Sir Not Appearing In This Game.
And this can be your nameplate icon
ANet may give it to you.
gaming 101, don’t post fun harmless bugs on the forums!
they always get patched out shortly after :P
in this game it happened with the mesmer tonic clones,
the legendary effect stacking, (multiple times every time someone revealed how to pull it off, that method would be patched.)
also the infinite animation looping glitch was patched within days of a forum post revealing how to do it.
it has happens in almost every other game that i’ve played too!
i love void jumping in LA so i’m hoping it doesn’t get patched!

You can still get under the map, but you have to be at a very specific spot when you relog, otherwise you’ll end up only close to the top and slide down. I tried it like twice but didn’t get it right, you have to be very precise with your positioning. But yeah, it’s possible.
Priory up in Lornars has a few generic vids on YouTube that show that particular glide route. Have a look at those. The Void Jump we show in Lornars is not the only Void Jump. We purposely not have posted all of Lornars since that particular map is always actively patched. In fact we had to use a tag-team approach using portal guns to replace silent patch that occurred in April. The second Void Jump which we did not post occurs in the far south east and is only possible with a precision glide. We’ll likely post it if the traditional Scoot VJ gets patched out.

I tried but failed to find a video showing the location of the void jump there. Do you have a link or can tell me the general area to try?

Hi Just-A-Flesh-Wound,
Hopefully we are replying in the right spot to your question. Tegs and I don’t use the forum, so forgive us on our clumsy responses. Scoots has a nice VJ for Lornars you can use but if you have trouble finding it, have a look at ours here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLKdn0DnTiA&index=21&list=PL4J7BBaQuuHM7PjggpNtUJLTKIoRK8iaU
After you get in the VJ water, swim out to the location shown in this video and blink.
Again, there a bunch already on YouTube but this one by Ryo was especially cute with their magic carpets (well done).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUC9_M5sA-8
Upon blinking you should be at your glide point vista starting point. Take a deep breath, deploy your canopy and have a wonderful time. Enjoy!

Tegs here – Actually that is Something both Tregs and I discussed there are some really amazing hidden extras out there (Giant underwater wings in frostgorge, Blue Man NPC in Dry top and my particular favorite being on top of Dragonstand Mountain when Mordemoth appears – that was incredible!)…
So perhaps the achievement could be something like “Sight Seer”. I think a sight seeing achievement would be amazing!
Actually, on the crazy achievement front, Tregs and I ran a few maps with balloons avoiding mobs to get to our Void & Off Map locations.. That was very good fun!

That would be nice if it was non-point based achievement. By the way, we do all of our puzzles as Rangers doing standard paths with zero mez portals. We love puzzles. It is only afterwards that we go back through maps to explore them in less traditional ways. As far as achievement name, we always refer to it as PVD. I’ll let you guess what D stands for in the acronym. ……but we truly enjoy the chess match. Evidence Anet enjoys the chess match is the Blue Man found in Dry Top. It’s an obvious Hello World.
Yeh show anet how to fix it all so we cant have fun with it anymore…

Guys like you need to find VJs instead of crying. If you cant, go back to farming and collecting your trinkets. For us, we have countless stories of having to keep up with silent patches you all never see in release notes as we deal with it without crying.

Sight Seer would be a wonderful title. I also agree with you that Dragonstand at the far top of the mountain during the meta is perhaps the most dramatic in-game view.

what are you talking about??
what does having farming and collecting trinkets got to do with anything of this??
Look my point is this:
1)
half of the fun in map glitching is finding the glitches yourself and the fun challenge of “beating” the devs and knowing that you yourself have achieved the breakout
i think you guys should just shows a video where you teach techniques of map glitching (relog bug or jumping to kitten in the map or with teleport skills etc) with 1 example each maybe
Then people could go out to all the maps and have fun with that newfound knowledge and search for more
2)
By just showing everyone how it works without showing the glitchspots directly they cant still have that fun in searching and finding them and you make sure Anet doesnt fix them so easily
I know anet usually doesnt take map glitches too serious as long as they dont lead to critical exploits but i still think its not that intelligent to shove a video of all the glitches right to their face

Point 1 – this is why we do it, It’s that extra challenge. I think what Tregs was trying to say is that we never do anything traditionally, we are pretty fascinated with what’s behind the walls that keep us in. Normally, you don’t get a lot of understanding from people regarding the “whys”, which is also completely understandable.
I love your comment and I think you make an awesome point regarding the “How”, Tregs and I did discuss this, but we ran out of time on our project, it may be something we go back to in the future but I am unsure. On our own breaks we literally spent days poking areas.
Point 2 – Haha, I think Anet would also have to ban Mesmers they can get in to the pretty gnarly places . On our list of Vjs we give a special nod to those that found them first, for example the user that start this thread (well over a year ago), a good few of his jumps were still viable. So they don’t get patched out that quickly.. If they are patched a new challenge is created. Isn’t is more fun to find a new and unique one?

Tegs is Lovely as Always and Correct. We would have loved to have created a separate video that covered the techniques. There is actually a very methodical strategy. Let’s take for example Dry Top which requires three separate blink areas to finally make it to the void jump. It’s probably the best example of where you need a deep understanding of map layering. This goes way beyond just waltzing around a map and hoping to find a non collision zone. You’re dreaming if you think you new this spot prior to us revealing it to you. ….cuz you didn’t. Anways, to her point; it’s fun to have to discover them. Peace.
On top of Mordemoths Mountain… Meta happening below.
This has to be one of my favorites, bit tricky to get there, but really worth it!

Oh, Lornars; you are such a funny map. For whatever reason, Anet has an affection for some maps over others in their determination to silently patch them with some periodicity. Lornars is one such map. We are aware of 3 distinct VJs of which Scoots is the one the Community relies upon the most.
The hold up in posting VJ #2 is actually my fault. I hit the record button on my hardware encoder about 30 seconds late into a glide. We have a glide path and actual splash down but we want to recreate the entire sequence. For anyone curious at taking a stab at VJ #2, here is the glide path screen shot.
Tegs and I have been terribly busy with non-GW2 projects and may have to say ‘Uncle!’ on this one but wanted to throw it out there if anyone else cares to try.
Here is the YouTube of the VJ #2 glide shortly after piercing map layers.
