I decided to delete my human thief and make a human ranger instead. The last place my thief visited was Black Citadel and this short lore/RP story started to take shape.

About one year has passed since the peace treaty between the charr and human was signed. Ancient atrocities and recent battles in the hundreds-year old war between these once bitter enemies is still fresh on many hearts. While traversing the streets of the major cities, peace between these races appears to be taking hold. Yet, in dark alleys, old hatreds still lurk…

A human was reported missing while visiting the Black Citadel early Sunday afternoon. The woman, Bastilla Shen, was last seen visiting human relics from Rin and then skulking about the depths of the Citadel. Shen had a history of run-ins with officials in Divinity’s Reach, Rata Sum and Lion’s Arch, often for pickpocketing and looting historical artifacts.

Shen’s disappearance has some non-charr residents in the Black Citadel feeling uneasy. One inebriated human, who wished to remain anonymous, reported hearing muffled screams coming from a back room in The Bane. “I peeked inside the doorway and … I saw a human arm laying on the floor! I tell you, those charr ATE her!”

No charr in The Bane would comment on the case, other than mentioning ways that “cats treat mice that play.”

Investigation is ongoing, but local Legion authorities have found no signs of foul play in the case. Officials in Divinity’s Reach stated that they are working with the charr to find the missing woman.
