Guild Wars 2

Hi,

Currently starting to make video out of GW2, and had a question:

Does Anet allow the monetization of video including screenshot and/or video of someone’s screen ?

I’ve seen both side out of google research about this point, and would like to make sure that it’s either allowed or not.

So here’s my understanding (and if I’m wrong, maybe my wrong answer will attract a correction…) if you ‘monetize’ your youtube video with ads, you are making money off of the ad revenue, not the Guild Wars IP. You aren’t selling Guild Wars or anything associated, or claiming as your own… So it should be fine.
My knowledge on the topic is rather limited, though, so I may be misinterpreting what I have heard.

here is what I suggest put in a disclaimer " I own none of the assets blah blah blah gw2 belongs to blah blah blah buy the game." never hurts to add in a disclaimer.

I don’t know anything about this topic, but I don’t think this makes sense. Making money off the ad revenue is like saying you’re making money off the money. How are you really making money? Using GW2 content. But whether it’s ok or not I do not know.

Never use disclaimers. You can monetize but you need personal contributions to it, cant just record a video from the game and then just post it. Either add a voiceover description or music.
