Hi, you remember me right, the guy that wanted to make a new music thread but was convinced to turn it into a wiki?

Well I have noticed a few problems with the current platform we are using for it (wikia):

1. The theme is a bit… well… bland.
2. The wikia bar is a bit intrusive
3. There is no search function to search the wiki for tabs
4. Trolling is way too easy when anyone can edit any tab.

I would be willing to find a host for the wiki, and provide a domain name for it. I just need input on what CMS to use. I am currently considering SMW as the search function provided is quite powerful. However, it may be more than we need. Any thoughts?

Wikimedia is pretty good and dead easy for contributors to get stuff in, but it’s a sod to administer and optimise.

I did the Wikia one as it was quick and easy to set up, but it can be a pain to use and full of ads.
Be sure to let me know what you go for in the end, as I’ll shut down the Wikia and redirect to whatever you come up with.

I have just acquired hosting for this project and will be acquiring a domain very soon. The host is new to the scene however, and I may end up also using it for my guild, so expect rapid changes. The wiki should be operational within a month at most, hopefully within a week.
