Many of the people who enjoyed Matale 7 were very curious about how I play the build in different situations and how the build normally performs outside of a “montage” where I would obviously include just the best clips. The following is a raw, 12 minutes long continuous clip of action packed Hammer WvWvW, very similar to all the clips that I normally record and then extract the more spectacular fights out of. Enjoy!
Wow you are kinda in BEASTMODE the whole video. I love it!!!! Actually excited a few friends to stop leveling POKEMONKUNFUPANDAS and pickup GW2. Very nice video and I loved the music you used. Far far too many videos with mall metal music like Disturbed or Slipknot.
I enjoyed it too, and am curious to know where you find so many small scale battles in WvW. Most of the time I only see players moving en masse or keep sieges. I’d like to try out the playstyle after watching the vid.

@ Pain Trait.2319: As long as you stay away from the zerg and try and go for smaller objectives you’ll find people that do the same on the roads. Generally if I see around 3-4 people I go straight in. If I see more I try and mess with them to get a few to follow me. With the build and gear showed at the end I’m able to get away really fast so people can’t really catch me. I have 100% swiftness and Savage Leap is on a short CD so I can get places fast. I’m pretty much built around fighting multiple opponents at the same time. The hammer has some great AoE control, I have 2 Ignore Pains, I reflect projectiles with Shield Stance, I immobilize people on cripple and so forth. It’s a lot of fun to play!
Impressive. I don’t normally like that style of music, but I really enjoyed those songs, even bought one off Amazon.
Do you ever find yourself feeling at a disadvantage by not running a ranged weapon in your secondary? I’m assuming of course that during keep sieges you switch to a ranged weapon of course. I’m speaking of fights outside of keep sieges.

@ Kravick.4906 : During sieges I use a Bow because I can get the extra range from my 10 points in tactics and the AoE damage is much more efficient.
I have Swiftness up 100% of the time with my 3 different rune sets and with Savage Leap I can catch up to people really fast. It is much more difficult to play melee than ranged because you’re always in the middle of a fight, always in danger, but I find it more entertaining and I really appreciate the challenge. I really enjoy the thrill and no fight is ever the same. The way I view my warrior is as a melee fighter so even though I’m at a disadvantage I just like it better. The main problem I found was getting away when things got really rough so that’s why I opted for the 100% swiftness, Savage Leap and double Ignore Pain.
@ custard.6152 I haven’t played that yet, however I don’t think you need to get as much toughness as I went for in my WvWvW video. Fights in sPvP tend to be much more balanced such as 2v2 or 3v3 where in WvWvW you often find yourself at a disadvantage. I would probably aim towards power/precision/x and depending on what my teammates are playing probably even give up on the “100% uptime on Swiftness” Rune combination.
Great video once I muted the soundtrack! I always like watching melee fighters outnumbered by range so I found it entertaining to watch you slap them around. I haven’t tried any pvp yet, but I’ll certainly keep the hammer in mind.
Nice to see a warrior who mixes it up hand to hand as appose to equipping rifles and thinking they can do any sort of real damage with it. I’ve always thought if you want to play like a ranger, you should roll a ranger.

While an enjoyable video to watch since most people don’t run the hammer in WvWvW, I am still baffled at the number of upranked opponents in European WvWvW. This is equivalent to killing P1-4s in Rift, and level 11s in huttball.
I enjoyed the video very much since that’s pretty close to how I run (ran actually) my warrior. However since I really focus on TPvP he’s been shelved due to lack of… something (dunno the right word to describe it). Anything we try to do on a warrior as a focus for a spec/build another class can do better and bring more to the group while doing it. Still awesome vid, wish things were different in TPvP as I was really looking forward to levelling up to 80 with my war for WvWvW, but alas…
WvWvW is so much better than tpvp in my eyes now. I played so many matches or spvp and for the first time last night decided to go out to wvwvw with some guildies on my level 53 warrior.
Had an absolute blast. Killed groups 3x our size with effective extend.
They need to allow you to see the names of the people you kill though.
This has revitalized my hope for hammer. I’m still low level so it just seems like epic crap and I always forget I’m not 80 yet. Cannot wait to wreck people, must level warrior faster.
It’s great to see someone knows how to play a hammer build, I almost run the same build and weapon setup, the s/shield is an absolute must, running reflect on a burst sb ranger is just hilarious.

@Rukia.4802 One night I had like 5-10 people chase me in WvWvW all over the map for literally something like 10 minutes and at some point, one of them, a GS warrior was actually starting to get pretty close to me. While I’m running away I see him trying to throw his GS at me in order to cripple me so I Shield Stance and reflected that at him, but because I had the 10 points in Tactics not only did I cripple him but I also imobilized him for 1 second. I laughed pretty hard and shortly after they just gave up.
Seeing people hitting themselves really hard with their ranged attacks during my Shield Stance is also very rewarding.
You got some real skills going on there, fun to watch as a fellow warrior!
