Guild Wars 2

A few days ago I’ve seen a video on youtube by Criken. They did something similar in a different MMO, by leading a bunch of low levels to the selected goal. The MMO that they chose couldn’t handle the players very well, but I still felt the excitement and community spirit in it. So I thought ehy not to do something similar on Guild Wars? We have overflows, servers could handle us! So I present to you:
COMMUNITY EVENT – TO THE GATES OF ARAH
What is it about?
It’s about doing the impossible and having fun while doing it. We’re going to create some level 1s and march from a starter zone all the way to gates of arah. If you can’t create a new level 1 show up to cheer us on!
Where?
Underworld EU server, metrica province
When?
2013 August 24, 3 am in the morning (to avoid forcing overflows on people that normally just use the zones to level) GMT +1 time (UK summer time)
What to bring?
A brand new asura and some good mood!
Feel free to spread the word and note in the comments if you are going. After all if you’re on an EU server – guest and join us on Underworld!

Yup, I’m aware about how inconvenient the time is. This is mostly so we wouldn’t cause overflows for people leveling – in the off peak hours there will be less bystanders. However I’m also organizing it on Friday to Saturday night – most of us have Saturday as a free day, so why not nap, set an alarm and wake up for a bit of GW2 community fun?

We know. We will have fun doing it though. Maybe we will get at least half way there. Maybe further. Depends how well we will be able to judge where there’s an enemy and how many of us there will be.

That issue was already raised by my guildies. For the team spirit it’s best if a person would bring their low level and for the image it’s best if they bring an asura, but if neither are possible then they could always show up to cheer us on and run with us as they are and if they would really want to participate they could kitten themselves in some way – like run with armor off

Nice idea- impossible time unless you are young enough to have no commitments.

It’s tonight guys – in about 4 and a half hours

if you were going to go, but didn’t, you didn’t miss that much really. Only 7 people showed up and one complained half of the way.

Thanks for hosting it Mirta, even though it didn’t get a lot of people this time I had fun while I was there atleast and it seemed like everyone else did aswell.

From what I learned for a next time I think it can be better by having it abit earlier in the evening, advertising it the day before and probably like 30minutes – 1hour before start in addition to this advance notice as forum post. But these are things you learn by hosting events and it will only be better the next time!

Aww, missed it. Would have guested had I known sooner. Looks like a good effort, if you guys run it again, please /w me.
