I don’t like stat-buffs in WvW as many others here in the forum and hope Arenanet will change something about it. But one problem many people have with it, that it destroys GvG could be solved very simply. Just add an option for each individual player to remove (activate/deactivate) bloodlust for himself (in any other game I know you can remove buffs you don’t want to have, so it can’t be difficult to implement).

This won’t solve all the problems with Bloodlust but will at least make GvG again possible.

PS.: Please no flame against Arenanet or other Players in this threat. I Think they don’t want to hear your opinion if you flame them.

Only suggested about 20 times already. Not gonna happen. ANet doesn’t want your GvG in WvW and they will do everything in their power to stop you from doing it.

the argument made by a certain dev was something like “you shouldnt be able to weaken yourself in wvw by disabling the buff for you”… cant say he really tried hard to make a reasonable argument there. or he thought we wanted it to be disabled for everyone, not individually. that would mean serious comprehensive reading problems though, which i find hard to believe. rather the truth probably is they dont give a kitten about gvg and they dont mind if their additions spoil it either.

Yes and i agree with this too as I said in the OP. But this does not change the fact that they think they made it better.

Its their ball so their ball their rules, and tough if you dont like it. Seems to be Dev attitude.

Disabling something, bah! An artificial solution.

They should make a new borderland which is called “Arena of the Mists”. Just one giant colosseum with a slice of “equal” terrain in the middle (much like mirrored maps), complete with the colosseum audience terraces on the side. Hell have two windmills there for familiarity. No points, no keeps. Just a pure duel zone for the three servers. FFA rules, the community decide what to do with it.

… never going to happen. They had a chance to do it with Obsidian Sanctum, but then they went and kittened it up by not allowing a choice in the menu, you have to go to EB.

I still find it unbelievable how they’re willingly destroying the self-organized budding eSport where their own attempt at eSports failed.
They just need to make a tiny part of the map not have the kitten buff.

Exactly.
Especially because this is players doing something constructive instead of just whining and complaining. The whole “scene” is player-made out of own initiative because the devs are failing to heed the call of what people want in that regard. :/

GvG will be the Esport of this game. Not Spvp.
Anet needs to learn from their mistake and make the needed changes to this can thrive.
