As everyone knows, Arenanet hasn’t introduced an official GvG gameplay mode (yet!). This post is just to get the word out there to players that there is, in fact, a player-driven GvG scene that has existed for a long time! There are many guilds that have participated and do participate, and it tends to be some of the best PvP gameplay that I’ve ever taken part of. So, we’re spreading the word, trying to grow the scene, and trying to make our playstyle even more new-guild friendly!

For players and guilds that are interested, check out this link. (it’s safe, I made it, don’t worry!)

Please note that you DO need to be level 80, and somewhat experienced in the game in order to participate.

Feel free to make an account on those forums to PM me or post, or feel free to message me on this website or mail me in-game at Fallen.4317 with any questions, or even just post right here! #GvGRevival2014

Please note that the most common format of “GvG” in Guild Wars 2 is either 15vs15 or 20vs20 team deathmatch. While those groups make up a big part of the player-driven “GvG”-movement, there are many guilds which prefer 5vs5 or 10vs10 TDM over the large scale combat that is 20vs20.

If you and your buddies prefer one of the small-scale variants, or some folks from the bigger guilds would like to go small-scale every now and then, don’t hesitate to get in touch with like-minded groups on your enemies’ realms.

After all, every form and scale of combat that involves team play, organization and somewhat skillful gameplay can provide lots and lots of fun, even if you may be new to it.

Could an admin please move this to the inappropriate thread to the GvG forum?

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

If you read the second post on Fallen’s Resources thread, It contains a list of guilds, and contacts for GvG. Don’t feel like you can’t contact any of those guild leaders for GvGs just because you’re not in their tier, or in their matchup. We are perfectly capable of organizing Eotm GvGs, as long as you’re not all the same color.

GvGs are a place to practice your synergy between your players in a controlled environment against organized, even groups. For me it has absolutely nothing to do with who wins or who looses, but a place to practice your weaknesses and capitalize on your strengths in any way possible.

I know many guilds are willing to help you improve in GvGing, it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep the scene as competitive as possible.

Even in WvW proper, at some point, you need to wipe the enemy zerg. It’s so much more fun, and satisfying to do so with your weapons and skills instead of using sieges.
