(Cave of a secret book)
“Here it is, Sprinkle. The place we’ve been looking for for the last two months.”
The new “entrance” Mr. Sprinkle created starts off in a steep decline. Kit curses under her breath, “Sprinkle, you’ll have to wait here. If I’m not back in 10 mintues just..make some noise or something and I’ll come rushing out.” Sprinkle stamps his foot in acknowledgement. “Good, now hold still. I need to tie this rope to you and lower myself down.”
Kit ties one end of the rope to the handhold of Sprinkle’s saddle and uses the slack to slowly lower herself down the rubble. The loose rocks and occasional structure debris jutting out make it incredibly dangerous to descend without support. With some rope remaining, Kit reaches the bottom of the slope; an open corridor leading to two hallways, one with a door jammed shut and the other with a door broken open from the inside.
Only one way to go, it seems. Kit heads into the dark hallway, ducking below fallen beams and breaking through spiders’ webs; The sound of angry spider legs echo througout the hall. The hallway opens up into what appears to be an atriuma, a small raised dais planted firmly in the center, highlighted by the sunlight shining through the broken ceiling. Atop the pedastal rests a dust-laden book. “Bingo!” Kit says, and makes her way toward it, keeping a wary eye on her surroundings.
“I could swear I’ve seen something like this before,” Kit says to herself. Arriving atop the dais she haphazardly grabs the book. Suddenly, the dais lowers and the walls lining the atrium descend, revealing numerous undead creatures and humans. They immediately start running toward Kit!
“Oh, crap! I knew I forgot something!” Kit throws the bag of sand at the nearest undead and high-tails it back the way she came. Kit is able to nimbly navigate through the narrow debris-ridden hallway, while the undead have a harder time with their clumsly limbs. Because of this she was able to reach her rope with time to spare. She shouts upward, “Sprinkle! Pull me up. Hurry!” Sprinkle’s head pops into view at the top of the slope.
“Don’t just stand there! Run back so you can pull me up!” Mr. Sprinkle disappears from sight. Kit glances to the hallway she just came from. The undead are having a more difficult time than she anticipated. “Huh, maybe I do have enough time to cli-AAUUHHH!” Kit’s words turn into a surprised scream and she’s jolted upward. Just in time, too, as the undead begin pouring out of the hallway. Without obstacles in their way they’re surprisingly fast and quickly begin to climb after Kit.
Kit explodes from the self-created entrance, but Mr. Sprinkle doesn’t stop running. Kit, still being pulled along my Sprinkle, shouts, “Sprinkle, stop!”. Kit glances back at the “entrance” and sees undead pouring from the hole. “Nevermind! Keep running!”
Adventurers! Kit’s in quite a bit of trouble and, oddly enough, can’t outrun the undead. She’ll need to distract them somehow. Send in 5 articles of meat so Kit can toss them behind her, hopefully enticing them long enough with the meat in order to get away!
