Citizens of Tyria, you are invited to join us in celebrating Pride March Tyria this June 26 at 5pm PST (roughly when daily achievements reset). We march primarily to show our support for gender and sexual minority players, some of which have found Guild Wars 2 to be one of a few safe places to simply be themselves and get away from the drama and the politics of the outside world.
Allies and proponents of equality for all are especially welcome to attend as are those who are members of LGBTQIA+ communities (my apologies if my acronym is less than current).
The march route will be starting in the center of Ebonhawk and proceed until it reaches the steps of Rata Sum. Please refer to included map for specifics.
As real life comes first we’ll understand if players will only be stopping by for a short section of the approximately two and a half hour tour. Also for those for whom the above-mentioned time is inconvenient, we’ll be glad for those who want to volunteer to lead other groups whenever is most convenient for them as we want this message of support to reach as many as possible regardless of personal time constraints.
I hate the fact that the reddit thread got locked. Silencing our voices because of the few that hate, especially given the events that occurred earlier today, is wrong. As far as I can see, there were four comment threads that were deleted, yet I don’t recall other posts in the gw2 subreddit ever being locked because of a few bad apples.
In any case, thank you for organizing this and I’ll try my best to be there with you all.
Whatever happened on reddit it was rather quick. I finished the posts, logged into game to do some dailies and by the time I’d checked back in it was locked. Though I am glad I missed the vitriol.
Such a pity really for the loss of positive contributors that can’t post there now.
Hi from Spain.
We’ld be glad to join a pride in EU servers. But i think we’ll need to change the schedule. Most places in Europe is at 2am and lot of people have to wake up early to work next day.
“Pride March Tyria For every player without any differences”<— if you would write topic with this sense I would understand. But it is not place for popularization these things, I am tolerant, but GW2 is not place for our beliefs and views.
See You all in game

Being gay or transgender is not a ‘belief’ or ‘view’ it’s not a choice. It’s an innate part of a person’s identity.
Anyway, I am looking forward to this immensely and will dress up my main in the most colourful attire I own for the march! I’m very excited.
Greetings from Orlando!
I would love to join in on this march, and I would also like to make a request. It would warm my heart if participants could dye their armor purple and gold – Orlando’s soccer team colors – to show support for my city while we deal with the recent attack on Pulse nightclub, where over 100 members of the LGBT+ community lost their lives or have sustained injuries.
Many thanks <3
Definitely plan on coming! As well as the questions on whom to look for to get on appropriate map(s), is there a meet up/organization time that we should be aiming for before the start time?
Kyrii – Purple and gold it is, at least for me. Thank you for suggesting that, as I know others would be more than happy to do so in light of the attack. <3

Hey ^^
I’m the admin of OpenCommunity – a small community that runs events on EU – and this is definitely something we’d be interested in helping out starting EU-side. I was actually just thinking yesterday it might be a good thing to get going.
Something like 6 PM CEST (5 PM British time, 4 PM GMT) sounds like a good time. Are EU people fine with that?

This is a wonderful idea! Are there going to be more details the closer we get? I won’t be able to come along for all of it, but will there be a squad or party so that we can all go through the same map? As an aside, I’m a member of one of the LGBTQ guilds, so I’ll make sure to tell them about this. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it!
I just told folks from my guild, [FROG]. We support the LGBT community, and we will hopefully have some to join you!! I know my hubby and I will be there!! <3 If you don’t mind, I will tweet the link from Gamers Giving Back and this thread, if that’s okay? <3
This is Awesome, I’m an officer in the Star Trek Online side of Stonewall and we do have a guild in GW2 as well. This will actually be on the end of Day 2 of our Pride event in STO. We have a full weekend of events there and we have a Star Ship pride parade in STO too on Saturday (I’ll be in the USS Mother Monster!). I’ll advertise this to all of Stonewall network and We’ll pack Tyria!
ROUGH TRADE (RTGC) is very excited about this and will be joining up!
We are in the middle of our week long PRIDE celebration and giveaways and we were planning to parade this Sunday until Orlando happened.
In lieu of the parade we will now be having a memorial at the Field of the Fallen in LA @ 2:00pm PST.
Then we will celebrate with everyone on the 26th!

This is a wonderful idea, and I know I will do my best to be there!
I have shared on my Facebook page, and encourage others to do the same. Tell your guilds! Share with friends! Get the word out and let’s make give this event the fantastic support it deserves!
I unfortunately can’t be there as I don’t currently have a functional computer, but I’ll wish you all the best, and thank you for organizing the event. Have a great time everyone!
Count me in, have you reached to other LBGT guilds?
While I lack contacts with other lgbt guilds I’ve been made aware that some of the members in the same guild I’m in are members of others and am hoping that word has spread that way at least.
Count me in! Any plans on how to get everyone onto the same map? Any leaders or commanders to watch out for?
From the replies and messages I’ve received it seems like this may turn into something spanning multiple map instances. As such any volunteers that want to get people grouped together would be enormously welcome.
Thankfully, unlike last year’s ‘test run’, there’s some advance notice, a shared route map, and attempts at organizing times going on and hopefully that will mean that we’ll be able to approximate multiple instances of groups somewhat together.
For those willing to volunteer their time and tags, post here and we’ll try to keep a look out.
As for me, I think I’ll be tagging up on my main: Katrina Seryu.

I’m in the habit of getting to places a half an hour to fifteen minutes ahead of a scheduled time and was planning to be at the starting point around then to help with coordinating before it all begins. I could arrange earlier if you think that would be necessary.

My condolences. I’ve been grieving out of game since it happened and I’m sorry I missed out (was having my computer checked out till about half an hour ago).
In all I’m both overwhelmed and amazed at the show of support. I wasn’t expecting even a third of the interest I’ve seen and I’m honored and humbled that my small attempts have drawn such incredible and heart-whelming response.
I hate working weekends, I always miss out on community events like this one. I may not be able to come but the least I can do is spread the word about the march to the rest of my guild(s).
Looking at time differences, it turns out this is on when I have to be at work. But in spirit, my characters will be there in rainbow colours. I’d love to see screenshots
