STRIKE ON SOUTHSUN! – SATURDAY the 31st of August – 5PM GMT (6PM BST) – GH (EU)

Hello folks!

Commander Duke Witherheart here!

I’m an officer and commander in the Gunnar’s Hold guild [RPS]! Now I enjoy WvW as much as the next person, but what also really can be fun is random PvE events!

Especially if they involve the slaughter of karka!

As such, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together as a community and go kill things. It’s not often that the EU side of the game gets a big event, so take this as an opportunity to farm mobs outside of the Crown Pavilion!

Our target is Southsun Cove, and our goal is taking down the Legendary Karka Queen.

The last time I held an event like this was back in May this year and I hope to repeat the success of that evening. Except… bigger! And more successful!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME – SO LONG AS YOU CAN GET ONTO GUNNAR’S HOLD (EU).

Where and when do we meet up?

Lion’s Arch, 5PM (that’s GMT – so 6PM if you’re British) on Saturday the 31st! Just come to my commander tag there and then.

Never been there before? Well now’s the time to discover how to get there! It’s the main city in the game after all.

Do I need anything?

A good attitude and a fighting spirit!

Since we’ll be doing some fairly high-end PvE then coming on your highest level character may help you survive a little better. Empty your inventory beforehand too – we’re in for a lot of loot!

Where are we going?

To Southsun Cove!

I understand not everyone has been there yet, so we’ll actually be using the asura portal from Lion’s Arch.

What are we doing?

I want for us to try and take down the Legendary Karka Queen. However, we will also be doing PvE events in the general vicinity. I understand it’ll be pretty chaotic but it’s all good – so long as we have fun.

That it?

Pretty much. I just need you to post in this thread if you’re coming so I know the sort of numbers to expect.

Oh, wait a second! I’ll be posting this on Reddit and maybe even on my blog too. I’m thinking that, if we get enough numbers, we may visit Orr after Southsun. If we get HUGE numbers, it would be nice to actually cleanse a temple (or three!).

If we get a crazy big zerg, we’ll hit up the Temple of Melandru so make sure you’ve visited the basic parts of Cursed Shore first. At the very minimum, you should have Fort Trinity explored because, depending on time, we might decide just to regroup there and steam across Orr.

Please message me in-game on Duke Witherheart if you have any questions. Feel free to bring your friends but don’t worry if you come alone – we’ll have people to guide you on the night.

Come join my friend, he organised another event like that before taking us through Orr and we had great moments there of triumph and … well you see there was this giant…

I would love to participate and help, cos I need the settler’s armor and missed the original event! But I’m not in town this saturday.. :/ does anyone know how long the vendor stays in place after the queen has been killed?
