tired of the incessant lag fest in the higher tiers? Looking for that magical place with no queues but still has plenty of activity in WvW? Look no further then Borlis Pass, a server that has sat smack in the middle tier of North America’s WvW presence without interruption for over a year.
What does BP offer?
~An active and engaged community~
Borlis Pass has a very active user community, that is not so large that people fall into the cacophony. Its in many respects like a small village or large extended family. Despite the occasional bouts of dysfunction that all families go through, Borlis Pass has been largely stable with a core cadre of guilds whose origins extend all the way back to the first months of GW2’s release. Before mega servers, Borlis Passes community also pioneered the Orrian temple rush on Sunday’s that became a major cross server event that took place every weekend on Borlis Pass. The server also puts on random events such as fashion contests and gift exchanges.
~Persistent presence with room for growth~
Borlis Pass is an East Coast North American server, and the only time qeues rear their head is during the prime time during EST from 7:00 to 10:00. Usually only on one map. During reset night, two maps tend to be completely queued. There is substantial room for growth in the Pacific Time period, as well as EU and Ocean. During off hours however, there are plenty of people still in WvW, with a couple active guilds during the Ocean time zone and players/commanders in the intervening period. Which leads too
~The most skilled militia outside Tier 2~
Borlis Passes random players are (Arguably, this is the internet) among the best in the game. Even at the highest fury of massive blob servers attacking Borlis Pass, zergs break like water over a stone upon the walls of our Garrison and Eternal Keep. Oftentimes in lop sided matchups you will see BP tenaciously clinging to Waypoints in its Borderlands and Eternal despite being hit by numbers far in excess to what is present defending. In the hands of our several militia commanders, the BP militia becomes a terrifying force capable of going toe to toe with almost any other servers militia and guilds.
We attribute Monkey Shinezz with making our militia among the best in the game. Firing arrowcarts to the battle cry of BROLIS NOOBS is a BP tradition akin to “We shall fight in the shade!” These are people that stuck with Borlis Pass going into Silver League knowing full well they would be fighting blob fests from the top tier of Silver. Tenacious really does not even begin to describe the BP militia.
~Constellation of guilds~
Borlis Pass has a large constellation of guilds ranging from small havoc teams to massive forces capable of forming independent zergs. Despite the pressures of leagues, many of these guilds remain on Borlis Pass even with the lure of bandwagoning pressure, and contribute greatly to Borlis Passes inherent stability as a server.
~Little Chance of a Serverwide meltdown~
Borlis Pass has hit snags on the road of life like many servers, and has endured two leagues already from a precarious position, getting through just fine. Borlis Pass has been between rank 11 and 13 persistently since March of 2013 with very little fluctuation up or down. The server as a rule does not actively recruit guilds, nor pays for or encourages mass transfers via gold rallies. This prevents artificial inflation that leads to a sudden collapse when these guilds inevitably leave. Those guilds and players that do find themselves on Borlis Pass are always welcomed into the community, a community that carries almost nationalistic fervor about itself and a superiority complex that drives our opponents crazy on occasion.
