Are you and your guild looking for fame? Are you looking for a server where you can make a name for yourself and have your accomplishments valued? Why choose a bandwagon server where you get lumped into “that” crowd and become a just another guild looking for an easy win? Fort Aspenwood is a Tier 2 NA server looking for individuals and guilds to keep tier 2 competitive above all.

We don’t want to be a bandwagon server and we’re really only looking for those who fit in with the Fort Aspenwood mentality. Here is the criteria to be considered a true Fort Aspenwooder:

1. You need to love to fight. We have the lowest Tier 2 population so we’re usually always outnumbered. You need to love being in a target rich environment and look forward to taking down a big enemy group.
2. You need to want more from WvW than just sitting on an arrow carts. We have some excellent WvW guilds on the server (BT, VK, HOPE, AVTR, uA, PRO, VeT, ACE, DPS, GODS, PD, RET, UK, UM) who are constantly looking to improve and make a lasting impression on our enemies. You need to want to be the best.
3. You can’t be crazy serious about everything. Fort Aspenwood has a hardcore yet laid back attitude when it comes to WvW. We’re there to have fun and we expect the same from everyone else. We don’t have a war council, we don’t have nightly guild assignments and we don’t have server drama or massive egos holding the server hostage. We are a community in every sense or the word and we’re not looking for a boss.
4. You need to be in it for the long haul. FA has been one of the most stable servers since launch. We haven’t really been a bandwagon, haven’t had guilds leave due to drama and we have fought tooth and nail for months to stay where we are. We don’t give up.
5. You also have to be slightly in love with yourself. Let’s face it, this is one of the criteria pretty much everyone already has covered.

Now that you are truly in love with the idea of being a Fort Aspenwooder, what other information should you know before transferring?

Queues: I like you guys so much I need to know how much I can play with you!

The only time you will find queues for most maps is on Friday reset. These queues range from 15-30 minutes on 2/4 maps. During the week we may have a queue on 1 map of roughly 10-15 minutes at NA primetime but it never gets much worse than that. FA is a lower population Tier 2 server so if you are looking for Tier 2 without the negatives, FA is a great option to check out.

Coverage

We have decent NA, oceanic and SEA coverage but we don’t have one time zone carrying the server. We’re looking for people from all time zones to even out the server and make us able to keep tier 2 competitive. We have excellent guilds and players during each time zone so you will certainly find some friends to play with whenever the need to WvW strikes you.

Community

Fort Aspenwood is a stable community above all else. We have a community voice server, an active community website and weekly server events including guild spotlights and guilds of the week nominations.

Fort Aspenwood is also a place where your guild can grow. We have a lot of militia participation in WvW and many players who are looking to join and grow with a skilled WvW guild. WvW is what we do and being constantly outmanned has bred some highly skilled players who are looking to join your guild.

FA is a great fighting server with many great people. If you’re looking for a server where you can chill with your guild and collect loot bags from the enemies without pressure from others, then FA may be a good place for you. FA is moving up, only at a steady and stable pace, unlike the bandwagon servers who fall apart the second they hit a roadblock.

FA are quality opponents in WvW, and they usually kick my butt 8 out of 10 times to boot. If you are looking for some higher tier action, but don’t feel T1 is for you, consider FA.

Actually, we don’t really care about the meta. We care about quality fights.

Fort Aspenwood has some of the most skilled fighters and guilds I have faced in WvW. I have tremendous amount of respect to the discipline of the “troops” they field. If you or your guild are considering moving to a server that loves good fights, then I would recommend Fort Aspenwood. Help keep Tier 2 competitive.

I’ve been on FA for a month.
That was the best WvW experience of my GW2.
I was recruited from PRO and immediatly found a friend (Radik..and with him many others the whole guild was amazing).
I don’t speak english , but i never had too many problems to understand them in Team Speak .
They are super organized and their team speak discipline ( no spam , no noise etc) surprised me.
I used to follow two commanders…one was Z…the other one was a ranger from RET (can’t remember the name but he was super)..my two favourite commanders .
Sadly now i’m back to my european server…to stay with my friends that wont transfer in NA.
But..i feel the war call of Fort Aspenwood in my heart every day…and i’m considering to go back in that fantastic server…i will be back as soon as i can afford the transfer cost.
Even if you don’t rememeber me, i remember you guys, and i miss you.

FA is a great server for the right kind of player – which Chris has explained well. T2 is a great place to be, and FA could easily place 1st with better coverage.

As a player on FA’s “arch-nemesis” server TC, I’ve been hoping for more great, friendly players to round out their coverage. Hope to see you on the field!

As someone who was on FA for a short while and is now on TC, I’d like to give a summary of my experience on it.

• FA plays hard until they mass-sleep, and then there is a coverage gap as clear as day and night.
• FA has a good framework for expanding their server— their teamspeak is set up and utilized effectively and they have good experience balancing their available numbers between borderlands— regularly having teams switch borderlands at a drop of a dime.
• They have a variety of guilds with different personalities, most with a great desire to improve their [already good] field combat.
• Their Lions Arch will pretty much sum up FA— it’s quite empty as most of their players are in WvW.

I personally enjoyed following some of the FA commanders, especially when they wiped successive zergs.

Basically it’s like what the OP said, if you want meta, you will be very very stressed on FA (if you are a big guild and really have the dedication to help out in this regard, then their players are actually quite receptive to learning new tricks). If you want to kick kitten on field and can accept you won’t win the numbers game any time soon, then FA may be for you.

Here’s to hoping for a balanced tier!

1. We are not a bandwagon server because we don’t want an influx of guilds with aspirations to go to tier one. We simply would like a couple of small/medium size guilds to help us with overall coverage. Or one large guild with multiple coverage.
2.We are outnumbered by our opponents and want more people because we do not have enough people to coordinate.
3. We want hardplayers WvW, but not hardcore enough where you will cause feuds with other players because their guild/group could not take/defend a tower. It’s a videogame, and we realize that.
4. I don’t know what love yourself is, but I imagine it was a joke. However, as I said, we do not want feuds, or squabbles between commanders/guilds. That is, we don’t want a guild who thinks it will come in and boss other guilds around.

There is still lots of zerging if you want to wxp train, but it feels more like organised skirmishes with quality pvp n lots of communication between coms/groups. imho the only thing holding FA off tier 1 is our SEA* coverage

Almost all right mixing up time zones a bit though we are very strong during oceanic time, usually hold the lead. Sea/ euri is where we need most help, though we have a very good group of sea players just nit enough numbers

If you want to swim through oceans of loot bags more than you want mediocre pve buffs from “winning” the match based on the scoreboard, this is the server for you. Also we have cookies.

I transferred to FA with my guild a few months ago and instantly we felt at home at FA. Everyone welcomed us, was sure to get us set up on the community forum and TS, and we were able to fit in right away in WvW. Being a PvX guild wanting to build and improve it’s WvW core, this was great! There are loads of opportunity for the large guilds and we have many medium-small guilds, all working together amazingly without being told that “your guild has to do this.” Each guild plays an important part here and you will definitely feel the love and pride for each other.

There really are so many great people on FA, the community is truly what makes our server awesome!

This is a good place to go

Fort Aspenwood has been my home server since launch. We haven’t given up. If you hate that, this is the place to be. We’re in it for the long haul.

I just wanted to add that, as a european who’s been playing on Fort Aspenwood since launch, lag is not an issue. No more than it is for NA players, at least.

FA has been my home for several months and has provided me with the most entertaining wvw experience I could have hoped for.

The target rich environment and calibre of fighters keeps me coming back every week.

Fort Aspenwood has been hated in the past but has earned respect from its peers in wvw. Our biggest challenge each week is to fight the beast known as Tarnished Coast who have proven to field some spectacular teams and numbers. The new kid on the block is Dragonbrand, and they are another impressive challenger in tier 2. There is nothing better than facing two powerful opponents and testing your mettle against them.

As someone who loves pvp and played nothing but FA in gw1, I am so happy and grateful that the server I picked for gw2 had so many like minded individuals who love to pvp and live for the fights, whether large scale or small scale. In the end of the day, having fun is what matters most. Win or lose, outmanned or not, it doesn’t matter as long as I have fun while playing. That’s my mentality and I’m very fortunate to be in a server that shares it with me.

We’re looking more people who share our mentality to join us. Let’s have fun together!

FA has community is great also, whether your on the pve side or WvW side

If Anet doesn’t mess up with the upcoming changes to match making, it will be good to be on a nice stable server. Fort Aspenwood is just that. We will be in the top brackets with so many loot bags at our feet we will have to drop merchants every 5 minutes. Come share our awesomesauce that is FA.

I would say come to TC….but we are FULL haha! So instead, go to FA! Speaking as someone who has fought FA in all their matches against TC, and also most of the ones against CD, this server has some very impressive WvWvW guilds who are dedicated, organized, and a pain in their enemies butts! You definitely wont be dissapointed with WvWvW on FA from what I can see from the other side of the fence :P

Definitely if you are a guild that is sick of queues, we have plenty of room here in FA.

You should only consider moving to FA if you want to find people to kill on every map with no queues.

Because that is what makes FA great: no queues and a ton of enemies to fight. Its quite often that you get to see an entire servers blob versus an outmanned FA guild/militia.

So if your guild is a community of killers and zerg wipers, you should really consider coming to FA. Right now TC and DB have exactly what we like: lots of players outnumbering us.

The killing is glorious here and you don’t have to fight for fights, you get to pick who, what, where and when you will fight. It’s a slice of heaven.

Over 6 months ago I’m in Fort Aspenwood and I always say that a good choice I made.

I found what I was looking for in a Server, people who want to fight, manages to understand with the blood of our enemies, and seen many servers down, but Fort Aspenwood is standing here.

The important thing is that there will always be against whom to fight, the other server’s are already full, will have a secured space here to join the battle.

Fort Aspenwood has a place for everyone whether you are a guild looking for a target rich environment and non stop action or an individual player looking to move for whatever reason, FA has a spot for you.

I love fort aspenwood and hope to never have to call another server home. I’m almost remiss to ask others to come here, because I don’t want anything to disrupt the chemistry we have here. But our teammates want better coverage so I’ll do my best to sell you on Fort Aspenwood.

Obviously, Fort Aspenwood has great queues. The downside for guilds is that you’ll face significant pressure sometimes, and the upside is that your contribution will always be apparent.

Fort Aspenwood is a great destination for individuals looking for a fresh start in WvW. We have some of the most talented guilds in the game for every type of playstyle. Whether you want to do zerg versus zerg, metagame, GvG, or havoc squad, you can find a guild to be your home on Fort Aspenwood.

Fort Aspenwood isn’t really a server so much as it’s a team. Like Malose said, we don’t have any central planning (other than theorycrafting and “hey wouldn’t it be cool if…”)

We just look at the game state, figure out what needs doing, and we do it. We don’t need a central figurehead, just respect.

Everyone on Fort Aspenwood is tough as nails. Do we win every week? Oh god no, not even close. But we’ve gotten pretty far on determination, practice, and effort. We disregard negative Nancys. When we wipe, we respawn. Name another server with a better success to coverage ratio. I don’t think you can.

Fort Aspenwood is a treasure and it’s a treasure you can have right now. If you’re thinking about switching servers anyway, nothing wrong with that— go ahead and join Fort Aspenwood. People can say a lot of things about Fort Aspenwood, but nobody can say they didn’t have a good time when they were here.

I have been in FA since 1 month after game launch and I would never leave, the feeling of brotherhood within the community is unlike anything I have experienced in any other game. I have had the pleasure of getting to know some really great guilds and FA feels like a big family /hugs!

[TVB] a 25+ man guild just moved to Fort Aspenwood less then a week ago from Kain, got to the point we just could not do it anymore there. We considered all our options and felt we wanted to stay in T2 as it suited our skill level and game play desires. We also decided on FA due to it not having suffered the bandwagon syndrome and seemed like a solid stable T2 server.

Some of us in [TVB] wanted various things, good fights, skilled player base, stable community, etc.....lets just say we have found all that on FA! Our guild has enjoyed each and every day/night we step onto a map, and do not ever see leaving it. We have run across old and new friends, and have yet to see any arguments/insults in map chat. There is always solid leadership on any map but also room for new commanders. And I can’t say enough about the "existent" talent already on the server...just great...!

So as others have said..you want plain good fights and lots of loot bags.....FA is it!!

I’ve been on Fort Aspenwood for around two months now and love everything about it. The best part is the laid-back attitude most of us embrace, although there are guilds here that are a bit more hardcore. We’re all about having fun and for the first time in a long time after switching to many different servers (JQ, SoS, YB, etc), Fort Aspenwood has been the most enjoyable and comfortable for me and my guild so far.

If I had to sum it up: WvW doesn’t feel like a chore/obligation. You do what you want, when you want.

Give it a try! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
