Guild Wars 2

I am thinking of transferring off of my current WvW server and I’m sure there are plenty of others thinking the same. The problem is that I don’t know what the current situation is on other servers/tiers. I would like to get the full picture before choosing, and so the purpose of this post is for other people to contribute their knowledge of their server so others can make an educated decision. If you don’t know just leave a question mark. Heres how it works:

Cmon people, please tell the truth. You don’t want resentful people on your server. They will do one of 3 things: transfer off, not organize, or actively work against you.

If you want to be perma-stuck in tier 4, come to Crystal Desert. If you look at our stats week over week, we’re primarily in it for the PPK, more so than our matchup opponents.

Most of our pugs will follow tags and only tags. I’ve just started up a roaming guild to hopefully work on fixing that over time. CD’s EU is the weak link, with NA/Late NA and SEA being quite strong; not always strong enough to win a skirmish, but organized groups perform well regardless.

CD does have a dedicated TS and some guilds have their own TS. TS involvement with pugs is fairly miserable. You’ll get those dedicated to playing WvW on TS easily, but the “weekend warrior” types will almost never jump on.

CD can map queue usually at most 2 maps. Usually EBG will map queue in NA/Late NA if one of the organized guild groups is running or we hold SMC (and yes, we’ve taken heavily defended T3 SMCs from NA SBI, YB, SoS). Just don’t expect that CD will hold onto SMC for any great period of time.

So if you’re in WvW for the fights, CD isn’t a bad place to be. If you’re PPT/Ktrain type, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

Gate of Madness
Position:
Currently in T4 but depends on server linking.
Numbers: Hard to estimate due to the fact that we’re linked with CD. Here are my current estimates:
NA timezone #s: 30 GoM server members consistently, 1 map usually queued.
EU: 20 GoM or less consistently
OCX: 20 GoM or less consistently, 1 map queued due to high OCX population on CD.
Fluctuations:
Our server consistently maintains its place as 15th but changes tier due to server linking. Currently in T4, paired with Crystal Desert.
Playstyle:
1 EB Tag zerg or tagless PUG group.
Multiple guilds for organized play.
Lots of small roaming groups and single roamers.
Voice comms / website status:
Active Teamspeak Server
Active Server Website
Notes:

• Consistent queue on EB during Reset Night
• Estimates are based off squad count, not including roamers or small guilds
• Most active during NA time

I would be remiss if I didn’t add my current server info, so here goes!

eu early 5-10 slowly buidls to na #s
early sea has dwindling na #s 10-20ish (not entirely sure) and drops off at around 2am pst. stays dead until eu.
fluctuation – server rising. we dropped far when some guilds left but we are slowly scraping our way back up.
playstyle – na map blob desperately needs frontline. some good guilds and roamers.
voice/website – ts3 and discord. great website and community.

notes – needs ocx presence to rise. very good opportunity for na commander looking to take people from blob and forge them into warriors. needs eu fight commander, some recruiting/organizing necessary but there are some numbers to work with.
