Guild Wars 2

To start with these are my views and not those of the entire server. I speak from my own point of view and do not speak on behalf of anyone.

I’m sure a lot of other servers have a rich history and so does Gunnar’s Hold. I wished to give a bit of a history in relation to Gunnar’s Hold, where we have been and where we are going, maybe!!!

Before Guild Wars 2 started a group called the initiative were formed. These were like minded guilds and individuals with the idea of creating a community on Gunnars, a community that helped and supported each other with quests, mission and whatever the game had to throw at us. Soon after the start of the game this crumbled slightly and within WvW Gunnars had a big fall from grace, from teir 1 to teir 9. Slowly the server has been rebuilt by hard working individuals and also guilds to become what it is today. This has also not been an easy road with some upsets along the way.

At present Gunnars Hold is a community that lives up to that previous ethos, there are numerous guilds and individuals that came during those first few days for the utopia and are still present and play today with these ethics under pinning their gaming. Recently Gunnars Hold has been more of a guild orientated server with lots of fantastic guilds, I won’t name some as I will only miss some out.

We have a community website and TS, the community is overall open and mature, there is a casual approach to WvW, we don’t tend to pull all nighters and a guild trying to find open field fights isn’t frowned upon for not helping the ppt. We play for fun. Of course some people within the community wish for us to be full and reach the dizzy heights of teir 1, others are obviously not so keen, neither are wrong, neither are right and what will happen will happen.

The thing is we have had a recent influx of guilds. I can not tell people where to play, and neither should I, I can not stop people coming to Gunnars Hold. However, to those guilds considering Gunnars I would ask you respect us. We do have a history, we have thought hard to get back to the position we are. Are you coming to get some easy fights before the next league or are you coming because you wish to join our community and be part of it through good and bad?

I want to add some things to what my servermate posted.

We are not going to lose our sleep during the final day because our opponents are threatening to grab the silver dolyak from within our hands.
We won’t get mad at any individual or guild group that is not helping to cap that camp 10 seconds before the tick.
We are not a dream wvw server that everything works like a well oiled machine.
We do not seek to dethrone Vizunah or Seafarers Rest.
We will not come to the forums after a victory and mock our opponents or disrespect them (for current and future forum warriors that is)

Now that we make it clear, all we are asking is to respect us and try to inform us before you press that transfer button.
We do not own the server so we cannot tell anyone to not come but pls have in mind that there is allready an established community here and i am asking to have a chat with us if your intention is to join Gunnars
