Hello!

As stated in the topic we are looking for a 5th for our core tourney team. We are located on the NA server. Looking for exceptional players of all classes. We are tentatively planning to run M-Th from 5-8 PST, with variable times on Fri/Sat/Sun as time/schedules permit.

We’re planning to be as competitive as we possible as quickly as possible with the intent to compete in as many 3rd party organized tournaments as time/schedules allow. All 4 core members have spent time in the top 100 on the leaderboards, but our current focus will be on improving and preparing for these 3rd party tournaments, so expect experimentation on the ladder with little regard for personal ranking.

Personality-wise, all core members are young working adults, so we’re looking for similarly like-minded individuals who are positive and open-minded about improving, accepts constructive criticism well, and can stick to a schedule.

OP also has access to a custom server, as well as another team that runs under another tag which we may set up scrims with. We currently use Team Speak as our VOIP.

That’s because there are only 7 professions currently for tournament play :P. Though I heard Banners might be worth getting as long as the warrior stands far away from everyone on the team.

I heard these guys praise the dark lord satan to win so many tournaments. If you like to win tourneys and praise the dark lord, this is the perfect team for you!

Warrior is fine long as you build the comp for it. Did it and beat some of the best teams for the 1 day we were a team. Maybe even have the VODs handy to back up my claims.

We actually have a warrior in our team, but we obviously play other professions as well. He is always begging us to make a comp around his warrior and we have had some success with it, but need to practice more with it i guess! :P as of right now we currently are making strats around other professions/comps!

OP has multiple teams and a rather large roster of 30 with 20+ active alot and all high ranks on the leaderboards! So, even if you don’t fit the profession we are looking for atm I’m sure Nothing could get ya in the guild if you pass his brutal tryout process -_-

Warrior is given way too much crap for some things that it lacks (which it does lack a few things). However, running the math past a few spreadsheets of mine, I found that warriors, just by the nature of their starting statistical distribution, have an automatic 13.46% decrease in damage done to them relative to my base thief stats (I compare things to the thief because that’s the class that I have the most experience with). Furthermore, the health increase is just stupid- warrs get the equivalent of an automatic 756.7 points of vitality, which basically soaks up damage and conditions as much as the warrior needs, in all honesty. And this is just the base stat distribution, too. I found Valkyrie amulets to be extremely beneficial; I didn’t want to add any gear that increased vitality (which would soak up more damage than I dealt) so that I could maintain the strength of my heals. Just with that, I found that the warrior soaks up 44.6% more damage than my base thief stats. On my build, the warrior soaks up 5.2% more damage in terms of defense (still), just with base stats and the amulet. None of this includes runes, traits, or utilities.

The major weaknesses with warriors, then, must arise in other areas of influence, as they clearly have a far superior statistical distribution.

Math was always my best-est subject.

Nah, I don’t think they want me, my rank just isn’t high enough (yet!). Still though, I’m sure that we could have some interesting conversations on the mathematics of this game.

This is what annoys me….i hear people say rank means nothing and leaderboards mean nothing but swear by them when looking for teammates. At least in my experience…Ive even seen the same people say both sides of the arguement.

Leaderboard means nothing actually. But Rank at least means something. When looking for a team mate to be competitive, would you prefer to take a teammate lv 50 rather than a lv 10? The reason is it is easier to change from Hotjoin to tPvP, all it need is just follow the strategy and the new mate at least has known his class so well by now, rather than a fresh new pvPer. I have not seen any Team Recruit based on Leaderboard, so I can not tell anything on this matter.

FYI we’re opening this up to all classes for guild invites, with the caveat that there is no promises of a spot on the actual core team, mostly because we’re still in a bit of flux on what we want to run. We’re going to take a longer-term outlook on this one, so any exceptional players regardless of class feel free to apply.
