Blackgate, ranked tier 1 in North American WvW, is seeking guilds to provide coverage outside of the NA primetime, before the commencement of the league system. We are seeking active and committed South East Asian, European, and Oceanic guilds and individual players who want to join the server that maintained the lead in WvW points-per-tick, while simultaneously defeating Tequatl in a world first effort.

The core player base of Blackgate has been here since the launch of the game and will continue the fight to be the best server! We gather daily on our community run TS3 to battle enemy forces together. We fight as one server, united; we did not get the nickname Beast Gate without reason.

Blackgate has been my only server in this game and I’ve been there through all its ups and downs. One thing I can say is that while many forum warriors have proclaimed our death, they were wrong every time. Our core never gave up. We always bounced back. We weathered the storm, we endured. We are still here.

I transferred to Beast Gate from Tarnished Coast about a week ago for more competitive WvW fights, and boy did I make the right decision.

This isn’t just a server; its a community, and even more than that its a brotherhood.

As the leader of a smaller guild. I will give you my blunt experiences with Blackgate. Despite being smaller we have been given the same amount of respect as the large ones and our input has always been valued and enocouraged.

This is not a world of all stars who just jumped on the same world. We are actually are friendly and welcoming community who take care of each other. When ND got hacked and deleted, Blackgate came together to help them rebuild. People help each other here and leave the Attitude at the door. This is a place worth playing at.

Of the guilds who have left for greener pastures, they have almost always had the kindest and most encouraging things to say as they went. Our respect doesn’t stop as soon as they transfer. (I personally miss RISE prince Javan and his “intense” commanding. Especially when it was so intense someone called the cops on him. <3

Currently on BG for a break from my previous server and its safe to say BG has a solid community. Great fights with great guilds filled with great people! Would definitely recommend BG if you’re looking to move to T1. I’ve enjoyed my stay this past week but its time to go back to my old server and start farming.. I mean cap those new points. <3 Best of luck BG.

I transferred here 3 months ago and have absolutely no regrets! Great server to fight with and great opponents to fight against 24/7! I love the fact that there is always an organized group on TS which you can join at any time of the day.
One question though, are we not recruiting NA? I don’t play during that time zone so I don’t know too much about it, but from what I heard it seems that is our weakest timeslot.

Totes have more respect for Stackgate than SoR. Fun group of people to play against and they always bring the heat.

This is the server for you if you want to play with guilds and players of different time zones that stay up just to help you out to hand off to the next time zone. That kind of cooperation and dedication is hard to come by since the state of this game has a notorious burn out. I am talking especially about commander burn out.

To be completely honest, it’s not that we need more players. We need a commander, and that usually means they have at least some sort of organized group to back them up in time zones that are dead hours.

(Amazed that RK does not waver from sometimes getting handed to them a giant PvDoor chain, only to get blocked.)

I am sure other servers have had situations similar to having dedicated individual commanders burning out. This is unfortunately the state of the game. We have commanders that go much longer then they should because they want to sustain the score. As they keep playing they become more zombie like, would love to hand off to the next time zone.

If you look at the history based on score board, then you should know that most of the times Blackgate has flipped the score from 3rd (weekends) to 1st (weekdays) because we have that many dedicated and consistent WvW commanders. Though natural attrition of players from new games coming out and burn out. we have the jokes about how none of us go to bed because we can’t sleep well without knowing that Blackgate is being protected by like minded competitive players.

We want to go to bed. We want you to wake up without seeing a PvDoor fest.

Side Note:
As for PvE. As far as I know, we got some pretty amazing community that comes together to organize just to kill Tequetl. Blackgate is first to kill Tequatl apparently.

I’ve been fighting some of these guys for… like a year now (!!!), and they have had their ups and downs, but like JQ are still hanging on to fight. Good luck with your recruitment.

You’re missing the huge title that says we need SEA and EU. If you’d care to look at the last couple of weeks, SoR and JQ vastly outnumbered our SEA forces. NA has actually been competitive between the big 3.

OP should be updated with names of wvw active/big/popular guilds like MERC. This makes it easier for prospective players to find out details of guilds they would be interested in joining.

SoR outnumbers BG during SEA…….that one made me laugh.

Blackgate guilds and members do not mind playing outside of their timezone to help the other guilds of our server. This includes Asian prime- which we currently need extra assistance in. We have guilds in this timezone that would help to support your guild in the field. As of now, our SEA guilds need support from loyal guilds who are looking for a new home.

Transferred from a tier 2 server to BG for almost 3 months now and I can say that the level of game play in BG is way different compared to Tier 2. Cross borderland coordination, several players willing to scout for several hours and the discipline of the server as a whole. I’m glad I’ve made the right decision.

I think it is most important to understand is that we want players that are willing to be in an outnumbered situation during EU and SEA. Our top competitors have amazing fights, and as it stands, our commanders from outside those time zones are staying up really late to keep up.

If you want to put your guild to the test, meet just as competitive guilds/players, and don’t want to PvDoor the whole time, then Blackgate is for you.

Still hoping for potential guilds in any timezone mentioned- certainly SEA/Asian prime! Keep us in mind.

Yes some of MERC still there as well as those SEA too (Thai reformed WvW to LP guild) (ND got hacked and reform their new guild) (CA also still there with one of their partner created another guild) So basicly everyone still there! and BG will still going strong!

First of all, MERC was not the Beast in Beast Gate, MERC was part of the Beast in Beast Gate. One guild can not single-handedly takes a server to the top of T1.

Secondly, have some respect. This is Blackgate’s recruitment thread. Even if you hate Blackgate, at least promote healthy competition by allowing other server to recruit so you have someone to fight against.

Maybe one of them reading here might answer you with a more specific answer dude as I can’t speak for them all myself but I would guess RK (Radiant Knights) and HB (Herfolge Boldklub) might do so.

Just dropping in to give my support to BG on the area of smaller guilds. I have been co-leader in a small PvX guild since early release, and we have been BG since day one. The large guilds have always included us smaller guilds in the fight, and have treated us with mutual respect. Even small raiding groups of randoms can meet up to accomplish something big at BG.

We have had our ups and downs (esp. when transfers were free)… But one thing has always remained fully intact, the core BG players. We have been known as some of the toughest fighters “pound for pound”, of all the servers. And I believe the main reason for that is our willingness to work together as a whole server.

My friend and I transferred to BG from a Tier 3 server last month and it has been a blast. The commanders really know their stuff and you will learn a lot about WvW and strategies. The TS3 talk is clean and none of that lifestory telling chatter stuff going on. This has been the best 1800 gems that I ever spend to transfer to BG; and the rewards are priceless.

A couple of points:

• The queues are not that long as I originally thought which held me back from transferring earlier (0-5 minutes max) (15-30 min reset night).

• Players and guilds are very welcoming.

• Blackgate TS server is very active for any kind of contents (even living story) and everyone work together as a team.

Just want to drop a quick compliment to Blackgate. We’re from [Thai] (or [LP] in WvW now). We moved to Blackgate ever since BG still in tier4 months ago and fighting with BG ever since. Now we even solidified our GW2 thai community in Blackgate and they (BG ppl) really treat us well and respect us eventhough we’re PvX guild.

Fighting from Oceanic – SEA – EU timezone, all i can say is Blackgate has a real fighting spirit with great commanders around. The smaller guilds always real helpful and coordinated. Even when there was a toughest time, we will still stand and fight against all the odds and outnumbers. We will never give up and that’s where the nickname “Beastgate” come from.

Recently our server also just got the world first Teq dragon so we’re not just about WvW but also provide solid PvE experience for you guys as well. I’m sure you wont regret joining Blackgate. Both for PvE and PvP (WvW).

PS: We’re in needed Oceanic/SEA/EU WvW guilds. Definitely there is no queue at all on those timezone on weekday, that’s for sure!

Moved here from DB when BG steamrolled us in WVW. Since then I’ve seen a few guilds come and go, but no matter who’s in charge that particular day the WVW peeps are friendly and helpful and run a tight ship. Nearly half of my guild has moved to BG since I did and some of them don’t even WVW. They were impressed with the community of the server no matter what people are doing when they guested over and decided to stay.

With the league play starting up in two weeks it’s understandable that people and guilds want to go where they feel they can make the most impact and some servers are going to suffer big time (will the last person on DB EBG please turn out the lights?) and some are going to go from full to Thanksgiving dinner stuffed (SoR) but remember this: no matter what happens, winners never quit and quitters never win. BG don’t quit.

Anyone need EU player? Need some help with transfer as I had bad luck and got Energizer lately

Great server with an awesome community, Been here since launch and I can tell you thaqt you will not find a better group of people anywhere in the game.

Add me to the list of launch Blackgate players. I’ve been there to witness all the ups and downs .. all the triumphs and struggles .. and through it all, Blackgate has remained strong as a server community in WvW and is always organized and determined. Of course I’m biased, but I don’t believe you can find a better collection of leaders and players who form our community and drive the server’s efforts in WvW.

• Active community forums and shoutbox
• Very active 1,000 person community TeamSpeak server
• Regular server and strategy meetings
• Large list of website administrators and community leaders who donate their personal time to keep things organized and as efficient as possible
• Guilds who work together across multiple time zones

If you’re a WvW focused guild looking for a NA server to hang your hat on before the leagues begin, look no further than Blackgate. There will be plenty of enemies to fight in every time zone and I have no doubt that you’ll have fun doing it as a part of the Blackgate server community.

No dude, no change and no queues during EU playtimes.

Me and my guild ( 100+) just moved out of desolation to piken square in eu. The reason was that desolation got lost some where in the world of pve. So we decided to choose another home. We didnt want to move to viz or sfr because they were the top ones. We wanted to get some work to reach or beat one of those servers. 4 weeks, in our new server we are now predicted to be rank 2 eu. Sfr and viz got numbers mean while we have passion and time in our hands to spend playing ^^. Was wondering what is it like to play in a server like yours.
