Bronze Tier GvG Invitation
Retired DR Server Admin; Retired Guild leader – Virtue of Xenia [VOX]
My guess is that you will continue to get mostly blank stares when you ask about GvG while in Bronze, it is what it is. I’d recommend moving up to Silver if you are passionate about GvG.
And calling other servers “kittens” in their forums for not GvGing does nothing to help drum up support. Even if I was interested in GvGing, I would pass on your offer.

We’re not moving to Silver tier because that’s not fixing the problem. Bronze tier has the potential to get competitive… or did you miss the entire point of my post?
And it’s not that I have a problem with 5 man guilds that simply can’t pull enough numbers for a proper GvG. And I certainly don’t have a problem with guilds that are PvE, PvX, or just multi-server and don’t have all of their fighters in the same place.
Those aren’t the ones who are “kittens”…… It’s the ones who schedule a GvG with us and then cancel at the last minute.

Cause we’re not interested in stack and push play style.
15v15 group comps 5warr, 5guard, 2ele, 2 necro, 1mes
Run forward, veil, boon strip, static field
So when we say we dont have the numbers its more that we dont have enough ppl who play this specific way.
I think this could be a good initiative. We could use something different down in Bronze, fight nights etc on thursdays would probably be a good idea.
But I think you might have to reconsider the sizes, while a 15 or 20 man group might work in higher tiers, we generally/usually don’t have the same amount of people interested in the same style here. I think 5-10 would be a more realistic number.
My own guild could probably scrounge up at least 5 people interested in giving this a go, and depending on how they enjoyed that, they might get more from the guild to want to try it etc. But I strongly doubt we could get 10 in on a first try. We’re roamers first and foremost, and when spotting the enemy we still scatter like a pack of squirrels in a peanut-butter factory.

We spent a Lil while in bronze…. The only guilds that gave us a gvg from bronze was LION maki/SKNY. Other than that the other guilds are on servers that are borderline silver or are silver(hod, eBay, DH). When we were on ET we rolled DR a few times and no one would accept a gvg offer from us. So we eventually made the move to silver to find more guild groups interested in gvg. GL trying to get guilds to do gvg…its like pulling teeth.

Sorry but no one runes a comp like that. Please inform yourself about GvG more before you decide to decline it. Be different than the rest of the tpvpers who act as if they know GvG up and down lol.
^ Before this thread gets too heated, let’s remember that everyone has a different opinion about what GvG should and should not be. And some of the Bronze tier servers who have never really been exposed to it (aside from a youtube clip here and there) might have a scewed idea of it.

Then what specific way do your players fight, Synosius? Because if you have a guild of 15 roamers who think that they can beat 15 players from my guild, then I don’t see a problem with whatever type of playstyle you want to bring into the Obsidian Sanctum. Prove to me that your guild’s fighting composition is better than the, as you put it, “5warr, 5guard, 2ele, 2 necro, 1mes. Run forward, veil, boon strip, static field” that my guild is bringing to the fight.

And Joneirikb, while I greatly appreciate you keeping an open mind… 5v5 is really just tpvp and if I wanted that I’d do a hotjoin in Heart of the Mists. What server does your pack of squirrels belong to? :P Maybe the next time VOX is out roaming with small numbers we’ll try to meet up with you :)

Here’s the way I see it… if you’re going to go into a competitive playstyle such as WvW, then why not actually get competitive? No one goes to WvW to PvE and those that do are blind to the countless PvE maps at their disposal that are much more beautifully laid out and diverse than any WvW map. The few that do enter a WvW map to PvE are the ones that say “WvW is stoopid and how hard is it to ‘Stack and Push’” and all that jazz… There’s stacking and pushing in any form of WvW, the only difference with GvG is that it’s a siegeless fight. Problem? None.
I support the GvG movement but as my sig says, I’m on DR so I can’t be GvG-ing VOX… right now anyway and I have to whip my guys back into shape after being gone a few weeks but feel free to contact me as well if you’re looking for another guild to fight.

Kaineng (signature), you’ve probably ran into a bunch of us this last week

Yes, yes sir we have. Speaking of Kaineng, VOX just had a GvG with Sacred Nectar [SN] on Tuesday (score 4-1 in our favor) and we have a rematch tonight at 6:30pm PST if you’d like to come watch in OS :)

Update 2/21/15
Myself and some guilds from across the bottom tier servers are seeking to create a list of guilds interested in GvG, with the hopes of facilitating easier match-making during the week, occasional tournament events (more on that below), and even GvG’s with higher tiers via EotM. If GvG is something your guild currently does, is interested in trying, or even would just want to spectate, please get in touch with us (10v10 format and above)! We’re also looking for motivated individuals to join us behind the scenes to organize, put on events, record, commentate, publicize, etc.!
Hopefully, this list will be a starting platform for us to organize the very first Bottom-feeder League Spring GvG Invitational – a bracket style tournament event allowing same-server guilds to fight each other, determine a winner, and then send finalists to fight cross-server and compete for The Best in Bronze title.
Anyway, if you are interested, please provide the account name of your guild leader and WvW driver (if different than leader) and the #’s that you typically can field (i.e. 15v15, 12v12, etc.) Hoping to hear from some of you so that we may build a respectable and thriving GvG community here on the lower tiers!
