Guild Wars 2

I recently started playing a couple weeks ago and have several level 10-15 characters on Stormbluff Isle. I’m hoping to find a Christian and/or family-friendly guild with an active community. I don’t mind switching servers, but as I am a new player it may be some time before I can save up the required gold.

These are the kinds of things I’m looking for in a guild:
- active friendly community
- rules structure that ensures guild member conduct (ie, not allowed to trash people in the game just because it’s a game, etc)
- community of players that don’t harass other players in speech or action
- fun! ^^
- preferably no cussing, but it’s not a requirement since I have the profanity filter on high in-game

A few things about me, let’s see….I don’t particularly like PvP, but I love PvE. I’m fond of leveling, exploring, dungeons (though I have yet to try one in GW2), and especially holiday/special game events. I used to be a huge raider in WoW, and played for about 7 years (since before the first expansion). However, I’m more of a casual gamer now and prefer a laid-back but active community of friends. I usually play on weeknights (EST) and weekends.

Non-gaming stuff about me…I love watching anime and reading novels, I am also a writer and an artist. My husband is also a big gamer and used to play WoW with me. There’s a pretty good chance that he will eventually start playing GW2 as well.

-Possibly- us. We’re not a Christian guild, however, and depending on your viewpoint you may dislike how comfortable we are with LGBT people. Which is not a major theme, mind you, but it’s also not shyed away from.

In short, we are a casual PvE/PvX guild that emphasizes mature and respectful behavior on the part of our members (though a humorous/crazy streak is encouraged). We’re very laid-back about how people play the game, and don’t throw a fit if someone isn’t decked out in all exotic/ascended items and don’t necessarily know everything in the game. We’re relaxed, we teach, we chat and have fun together. That’s what it’s all about. (As an added bonus, it’s an extremely rare occasion that I have to deal with any sort of guild drama).

We generally do weekly Guild Bounties and WvW, as well as other random (and occaisionally whacky) events thrown in for variety.

At the moment, we have 10-25 people who login and represent RoMS on a daily basis (total roster 96), as well as a couple friendly guilds who we often muster with if not enough players are available for a particular activity. We’re most active in the evenings based on Central time zones, but happy to expand our activity at other times.

For voice, we typically use vent, but mostly only for WvW or sometimes dungeons.

Please be aware that RoMS does have an application that it requires for new members, to ensure that we get people who fit the guild’s philosophy. Additionally, the guild is PG/Family-friendly, and no swearing or explicit content is allowed.

Chariot of Fire [FIRE] – NOW RECRUITING NEW WVW AND PVE MEMBERS!!!

Chariot of Fire [FIRE] is a Christ-centered, family-friendly PvX fellowship that is located on the Northern Shiverpeaks server in Guild Wars 2. Originally created in 2007 in the first Guild Wars, the [FIRE] guild has a rich history within the Guild Wars community. Our members share a common goal: to enjoy the game in a God-honoring, family-friendly gaming environment. Our guild is based upon four major tenants that define us:

CHRIST-CENTERED: Our first tenant is Christ-centered gameplay. We intend to honor God in all that we do, whether it be in word or in deed, instilling our faith as we play by being an example to all of Jesus Christ.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY: Our second tenant is a family-friendly gaming environment. We want every person to play in a comfortable environment where they are free of excessive cursing, sexual conversation, trolling, and excessive rudeness.

FELLOWSHIP-ORIENTED: Our third tenant is fellowship. Our focus is to build up each other. We want members that that want to be part of a community that lives past the login screen of the games we play.

COMMUNITY-MINDED: Our fourth tenant is to be community-minded. We want to engage in activities with others on our server, as well as work together as a team with the others on our server, building community and cohesion on the battlefield.

Chariot of Fire [FIRE] is a WvW-centric PvX guild. What does this mean? It means we are not a WvW guild, so we are not considered hardcore and elite. However, we do more WvW than any other single activity within our guild, far more than a casual basis. We have multiple regular scheduled WvW raids, occasional WvW training nights, and many impromptu WvW havoc and pug support WvW activities as well. We regularly train those from within our guild that are PvE players or new-to-WvW so that they can enjoy WvW in a fun, coordinated, family-friendly manner. When not raiding on the battlefield, most of our members still engage in map completion, dungeons and fractals, living story, seasonal content, and many other PvE activities.

We will accept new members from ANY server, but those that wish to participate in our growing WvW sector will need to be on Northern Shiverpeaks or be willing to transfer to NSP from their current server. We are looking specifically for those that wish to participate in a community. We do not need the most skilled WvW players or those with the highest Fractal level. We want players willing to communicate, fellowship, and play together. We prefer players that are balanced in their game activities. 100% rep is not required, but primarily repping us is preferred.
