IF YOU ASK A QUESTION AND THE ANSWER YOU GET IS NOT FROM ME, DISREGARD IT. IT IS JUST ANOTHER OPINION THAT LACKS MERIT AND THUS NOT ACCURATE. With that being said
I’m looking for competent players who want to run dungeons. Knowledge is not needed but the ability to play your class is essential. Looking to put together people who are good. Message me in game if you are interested in running successful dungeons instead of just wiping.

If you message me, I’ll add you to my community friend’s list. You will need to play with me for me to judge you ( and you to judge me). If you are not up to par, I am going to kick you from the guild.

What will be the admission exam? Fracs 26+(seems like a good lvl to test wo requiring absolute fractal knowledge)? Arah 4? cof 1 (lol)?

1) Taking turn duo aggro Lupi in melee while the other 3 watch.
2) Fractal 38: Shaman, Snowbind, Mossman melee.

I’m not an elitist so I don’t think I would qualify.

Edited for clarity: Elitist used here in its pure term as someone superior in their talent etc. Not in its smear term, used by Some-One-Left-Behind Program.

Having played with you, I know you are competent in your class and thus I would categorize you as elite, especially with all the failures in game. For Fractals, I myself do not them as for me there is no reward great enough. I do know a few people I play with (you have too) that are past that level and may be interested in joining.

Interesting question, I had in mind COE, Arah etc keeping in mind how many times you die/stand still do nothing/ fail to dodge roll (all the basics). I never really thought of a test, Skychef poses an interesting idea, have two people duo a particular event. I will get back to you shortly.

Perhaps elitism is too strong of a word. COMPETENCY is not.

3) Effectively applying this knowledge

I use LFG to join random people all the time for dungeon runs. I think party profession composition usually determines the outcome.

Usually glass cannon party (all 5) wipe if they don’t know the path. If there is a quardian and the rest are glass, it’s usually ok if people know the path. Otherwise, if all 5 knows the path, they are ok regardless of professions or even levels (does not even need to be 80). Usually if the party players’ rateing are high (2000+), it’s ok too. :P

So I only leave a party when I see a glass canon party with low (<1000) player ratings and when I have limited time to play. It takes time to show people the path and some people don’t read sometimes. XD Even then, I think I only left a party 2 times so far because people didn’t read and couldn’t progress. So yeah there is no need to be elitists to play the game imo.

Maybe worth it if zerker gear is mandatory. I don’t mind people wearing tank gear if I’m helping them through dungeons because they’re fairly new to them. My first exo set on my warrior was karma PVT, so I was there too. But if I’m dungeoning with ‘elitists’, everyone needs to be in zerker, except for maybe fractals 48, then still mostly zerker.

Anyone can sit in the back and not die. That does not make you a good player. I can toss full clerics on my guard and kite around all day while that guy in zerker gear does 90 percent of the damage but got downed and it doesn’t make me better than him because I’m still alive.

In my opinion a competent can do any dungeon it this game in full zerker gear without much trouble if they are competent enough to understand the basic mechanics of all the fights. If you feel like you have won because you can stay alive in your defensive set where others can’t then you have already lost.

Most people who use full zerker gear for everything are not elitists they are just good enough to understand how easy every dungeon is and that running anything else is a waste of time.

I really wish you would have read the post before commenting. It would have saved my time to responding to this and saved you from looking idiotic.

Obviously you didn’t play with every member, like myself but I did notice the same thing, there are quite a few sub par players in the guild. The only invite I ever get is COF p1. Think I got one Coe p1 also. Probably just a mistype

Even the two COF runs I went in were horrible, had to pull the slave driver away from its spawn, then the same guy died both runs on the switch, both times saying well before we got there that he was doing it so its not like he wasn’t ready for it.

Its a shame because there are really good pug players out there like myself that just can’t find a semi-hardcore dungeon guild. They all turn out to be guilds full of COF p1 wannabe dungeon pro’s who think their good.

But maybe over time, for now I stopped replying to the invites. Might get better in the future.

First: people do not respond to invites so I have to pug them. I can’t help getting crappy players because the good ones don’t respond.
Second: The guy who was dying was not in Rome, good job paying attention. Infact it was only me who was with you that was in Rome the first time and the second time another member was there.
Third: I run cof daily along with other dungeons. I even say “daily cof 1”. You should be surprised you get invited to cof 1 daily with the information I give out.
Fourth: You have not played with every member. Imagine that when I choose to do a dungeon and whisper people, no one drops what they are doing and comes hither to. Pretend (only for a second) that people have lives and do other things which cause them to be offline and when they are online they are not sitting in LA waiting for me to whisper them. I know, fairy tales are just too unrealistic.
Fifth: I invited you to a lot more than cof 1 coe 1. Arah, CM, AC, COE, COF, SE were dungeons I whispered you about.

If you’re unhappy leave but don’t try to bash something you did not take advantage of to the fullest potential. Rome was not built in one day and neither will this guild be. Right now we are severely undermanned. I’m trying to fix this (by recruiting) and weed out bad players who show up. Clearly you don’t have the patience to wait as we build up the memberbase which is fine. I wish you well.

I wish that this game had more elite dungeon guilds. I’m still trying to find a good one myself.

If you have the patience and skill needed, join Rome. I accept all members (initiate rank) and only the quality ones (by means of playing with) get promoted. The others get kicked. We currently looking to have about 84 more members. All “good guilds” have to start somewhere.

Join LOD. We’re a teaching dungeon SC guild. We run our own tactics, but don’t mind taking new players along and teaching them, as long as they listen and progress. Our runs are pretty smooth though. We mostly run Arah and CoE, although TA, CM and AC are done occasionally as well.

We might sound like elitist trolls on the forums, but we aren’t all that bad, and even Nikaido can be a really nice guy.

I haven’t yet gotten to play with any people from [Rome] yet, though i had been asked for a few CoFs, but didn’t have time at those moments.

Though my main question is, after reading the thread, is there any people in either of these guilds listed that do FotM Lv48(>38) regularly?

So far, i’ve been only pugging FotM with 1 buddy of mine and the rate of crap to good players @FotM 48 is usually at 70/30. Most people can’t deal with stuff like the legendary grawl shaman at all and it’ll take us 30-60 minutes for that fight alone.

God forbid you get one of those “ranger mains” with 5000-9000 achievement points that refuse to use any other character. So far, every ranger with high achievement points have been utter garbage, not even kidding. I have yet to get a good ranger or necro for fractals.
Doesn’t mean there’s not tons of dumb players of the other professions.

2 days ago I ran with 2 other ROME members on AC p2 ghost eater with 2 pugs, it was butter smooth. after 3 traps and the boss was dead.

2nd run took place, 1 ROME and 1 pug left the group, 2 new pugs joins in and the run fell apart. the party lacked DPS, survivability and coordination. Roman and I were always the last one standing struggling to kill the boss at 15% HP and res while others were either dead or down.

i have had more than COF invites. and when it comes to other dungeons, i ask where are other ROME members, the leader told me they are either busy with something else, or just AFK. 80% of the time i just drop whatever i was doing to run dungeon with the guild unless i was already in a dungeon, PvP, WvW, or doing world bosses. the things that i was doing can wait or start again later on, but a smooth run doesn’t come by often now days.

as for ROME members, we don’t have to wait for the guild leader to whisper for invite, take some initiative to whisperer each other if you want to run something. i am guilty of that, since i was still under the impression that i was under trial stage. i did not start any dungeon or ask anyone to run. if you are thinking “man, i don’t ever get invites and when i do, it’s COF 1”. go out and ask those who are online yourself. personally, i will drop whatever i’m doing or about to do 80% of the time to do a dungeon.
