Get it? Dedvona’s? It’s the joke… anyway.

Anyone who keeps up with the WvW rankings knows that Devona’s Rest sunk last fall and has stayed in T8 since. With guilds migrating to higher tiers and disbanding for other games this is to be expected. At first spirits were high and people were all gung-ho about reshaping the server structure. However after months of getting our teeth kicked in in WvW those spirits have been dampened and more people have left.

Don’t let this dissuade you from thinking we have no one in WvW. We still have very strong NA Prime presence (among the strongest in T8-T7) but after NA Prime goes to sleep no one is around to receive the torch and keep running with it. That’s what kills us. Everything gets capped in off hours and our score dives. It’s demoralizing to see that for months on end.

So this is a callout to guilds (specifically OCX, SEA, and EU guilds) that want to help reshape a server and help structure it how it desperately needs to be structured. We are not without our drama to be sure, but no server is. To prove to you that we still have SOME fighting spirit, we have not yet sank to 24th in NA and are sitting firmly in 23rd. We just need some more coverage to help us rise to where we want to be.

i can also vouch for Devona’s. we’re a friendly bunch of players who love to roam and havoc in the BLs while havin a good time and a few laughs. its not as dead as most ppl think so if youre looking to get away from the blobs, megablobs and the omniblobs, well then look no further than Devonas’s Rest where we might be small but have alot of heart and spirit.

i have to admit weve been havin somne great fights here on DR against ET and IoJ, so were far from dead and only can go up and we’d love to have You come and be a part of our friendly laid back community. come and join Devonas Rest today:)

We had a good group going last night in WvW. It started out with just a few members of The Mist Wardens roaming around, knocking out a few camps and a couple towers. As we progressed, more and more people from various guilds started joining in until we had a group of 20+ looking for blood. Some scouts found another group from Isle of Janthir and we started chasing them from map to map. The evening culminated in a rather satisfying clash of nearly 60 players in a battle for control of the castle in EB. The battle was a tough fight, props to IoJ, but thanks to the efforts of a couple pro Mesmers, the brave men and women of Devona’s Rest were able to maintain the pressure and eventually won the evening.

There is still passion alive on DR, last night was a testament to that; but, we need a few more guilds like TMW to step up, especially outside NA peak hours, to lead the charge. TMW did not start out last night intending to lead some massive campaign, it just happened. All it takes is for a few people to be willing to lead and legends will follow.

DR is not dead, we have simply lost our way. We will find our way back, it is only a matter of time and when that time comes, which side will you be on? Now is the time to decide, lay the framework for your chapter in Devona’s legendary rise back to power!

DeathGather, one of my friends on Devona’s Rest, shared the attached image with me this morning. This was the scene in WvW last night after a zerg group of about 20 from [kYrO] and a havoc team from [TMW] had their way with the Mists (we are blue this week by the way).

This is just more evidence that, not only can the people of DR hold their own in a fight, we win fights. Our need right now is not more people to help win in prime time match-ups (though we wouldn’t turn you away!); we need people to help keep the momentum going through off-peak hours, to keep us from simply losing everything we captured within a couple hours of logging off. By the time I had logged in this afternoon, the situation was much less… blue.

We can fight, we WIN fights, and if we had you to help us maintain the pressure we would start rising in the ranks again! Maybe you’ve wanted to get involved in WvW but your server has long queue times, you can get into the brawl with no wait here. Or, perhaps you’re simply inexperienced because all the guilds who are dominant in your tier won’t take the time to show you the ropes… well shame on them, we’d be happy to have you with us and we’ll take all the time necessary to show you how to become a force to be reckoned with.

A server mate shared this with me last night. Whether or not this was after the other servers went to sleep doesn’t diminish the fact that DR hasn’t given up. If we can’t win against the server blobs of FC we’ll wait until they go to sleep to take stuff, we don’t just run back to PvP and hope the next week will be better because it won’t be. There’s no going back so the only way we can go is forward and that’s the mentality of most of the people on DR right now.

What we need are those people who are willing to help us keep this stuff that we take. We need the people who are going to keep fighting the other servers during our off hours. Last reset we found out that the #1 T8 server had to pretty much throw their entire map blob at one of our zergs to stop us, and that’s when we had 3 groups running around so we were split up. DR hasn’t given up but we sure would appreciate some reinforcements.
