Devona's Rest
Except DR has a horrible WvW rep.
We have just acquired our new 512 slot TS server and a lot of our work is finally being put into motion. We lack coordinated coverage of time zones but do fairly well at all times. I’d say our lowest activity is at 6-11am EST. We have an extremely friendly and social community, focused on everyone having fun.
We aren’t super serious about point score and winning so if you are a fair weather zerger this server isn’t for you. This server is for you however if you enjoy the challenge of taking on groups larger than yours, or solo roaming. Theres an overall lack of combat movement tactics so it’s perfect for smaller groups. Quite often my two or three man group can pull, string and separate enemies enough to take on 2-5 times our numbers.
You’re still going to see massive zergs here, but you’ll only see them rarely. Smaller group combat is definitely a big part of our server.
You may also notice that the higher the tier, the better the average player is. We get a decent amount of 1v1s just roaming around so we have had a lot of time to hone and perfect our builds and skill timing. In fact we have a weekly 1v1 fight club Thursdays, where all three servers show up for some friendly end on down 1v1 or small group duels.

Holy sh!t that’s the best recruitment video ever.
And it’s true. Like I said once in Lion’s Arch: yeah, higher server has zerg battles that’d make Sun Tzu cry (both in joy of numbers and desperation in lack of variety), but here in DR? You want to WvW you just jump in WvW
No queue, no waiting, just pop in and you’re ready to go.
P.S: And if you feel like it, we sometimes go and fortify Pangloss into literal Fort kitten, complete with Trebuchet artillery and Flame Ram gates. Yes, there’s a trebuchet inside a cave
If you’re STILL not convinced that the video is telling the truth.
We captured enemy’s hills, fully upgraded it (complete with WP), put 8 trebuchets on it, and stationed 6 alphas in it.
THAT is dedication and lots of lulz
Lol! Fort Pang is the best wvw experience EVER!
Regnum Ascalon[RegA] – Devona’s Rest
I can see Devona’s Rest going up the ranks for a bit, we (the big wvw guilds and their players) have been putting a lot of time into coordinating and it’s finally showing good results. I would personally like to see more inter-guild coordination between the commanders. If any guild leader / commander from Devona’s rest is interested in more of this please contact me via in game mail, I am the second in command of the [WoS] guild (Wings of Salvation) or our leaders Koldo The Dead / Shinobix.

Just to let everyone know from Devona’s Rest that I am actually slowly coordinating the players at EB(not DDLG guild but the rest). Teaching them how to bust a zerg twice number than us and taking over the whole side of the other server. Especially getting people at EB channel at our TS and to make them understand what is the difference when you’re at TS and not at TS. HUGE difference! way faster, no need to type, everyone listen to what I say, stacking is way faster, and busting zerg with no sweat! Devona’s rest’s players are actually good at cooperating! just need to coordinate them. As a Commander I will not stop learning on how to be a good commander and help the server.

REMEMEBER: It’s not about what a server can do for you but what YOU can do for the server. This is my Motto.

There also needs to be an effort to create proper zerg-backup communication channels because a lot of players who do not like to join the zerg prefer to support it by working on taking enemy supply lines / repairing / building / manning the defense. For example, I have noticed that some smart roaming groups like to scout enemy zerg and steal their supply lines from under their noses, which really helps in terms of defensive game play. Yet these efforts tend to ‘fly under the table’, because not all commanders are battle savvy enough to take advantage of them. Also for players who just like to roam and kill, they can also be taught how to better use their skills in these defensive efforts. I have personally managed to realize that while defense is key, when all those roaming players achieve their defensive objectives they are typically ready to attack every 15 minutes or so, which helps provide the main zerg with a big effort boost. I would like to see more of that happening and as a commander I think you can see the asset in this.

Yeah I will do the best I can as a Commander of this server. I am slowly learning on how to command well from different commander as well. Before I can only do Defends but now I am slowly getting on Offensive and busting zergs around. Hopefully I can do more than that. See you around the game and I will look forward of your support.
