Player looking for guild.
I have played a couple months at launch but quit becuase of technical problems; few days ago I decided to give the game another go.
I am a player who leans more towards the casual mentality than the hardcore and I value community and social interactions in MMOs above everything else (of course the game needs to be good too, otherwise I would hang out with friends at a pub if I just wanted to socialize).
When I join a guild I tend to stick with it for a long time, therefore this search of mine might turn out to be lenghty.
What I am looking for, gameplay-wise is PvX. From what I remember of GuildWars and what I have experienced these past days, this is a game that encourages delving into all its aspects and I intend to do so, or try at least. I have very little experience in all aspects though, be it PvP, WvW or PvE I haven’d done much at level 80 but I am a quick lerner and from past experiences in other games I know I usually perform above average.
Given that I hope for this membership to be long-lasting (or even for life) what I play and which server I am in are frivolous details: server can be changed and profession… well I am still not sure which one is my main. I started as a Mesmer which I still love, but I just can’t stand the sounds its skills make (poinless argument since there always seems to be another player “mesmering” around me, if I have to hear at those annoying sounds, might aswell be me the one making them). I am more than happy to change profession if the need arises.
I currently play on Far Shiverpeaks but as mentioned I can change realm, actually I would be glad to. I have not tryed to queue for WvW these past days yet, but from what I remember from launch the queues would go up to somewhere around 5 hours during the week and 8 hours on the weekends, While I expect them to be quicker now that the game is not a novelty anymore, I still prefer a quieter home (this is assuming that the guild takes part in organized WvW, which is not mandatory for me)
What I am looking for on the meta-game level is regular players to team up with, use of voice comms for organized events, but not too much seriousness when talking: I prefer to die a few more times than needed but have a laugh, than spending hours in silence listening to someone coordinating the team.
I prefer medium sized guilds to the overcrowded ones, simply because having too many players to get aquainted with takes too long and I tend to give my best when I know whom I play with thouroughly, knowing how far I can push my jokes before I offend someone and who’s good at what in terms of gameplay.
I am 30yo and I would like to find a community around my age, I don’t like making discriminations but I know from experience that it gets harder and harder to get along with other the more age disparity there is.
