After exploring some other games including Wild Star, Elder Scrolls Online and ArcheAge, Black Talons Gaming has decided to return to Guild Wars 2. We have tested the waters and feel this game still has the most to offer us in the form of accessible, quality group PvP. At the peak of our time spent in GW2 previously, BT became a respected and feared WvW dominating machine.

Current state and goal

BT currently consists of a good deal of the original core GW2 squad, with 15-20 active nightly doing WvW. Our aim is to add more quality PvP minded individuals to this group. With a solid group of ~25, we plan to build on our history and return to being a powerful force in WvW engagements.

What we require of our members

- Activity: We expect members to turn up to PvP events. Working late, holidays or other extenuating circumstances aside, 3-4 PvP nights per week are normal for us.

- Competence: We will not spend 2 months teaching PvP basics to applicants, and anyone who doesn’t display a grasp on these will not reach full membership.

- Attitude: Raging and complaining will not be tolerated. PvP can get intense, but criticism and questions can take place after the event. We have virtually no boundaries on communication, a first day applicant can tell the Guild lead he messed up, but under the right circumstances and with the right attitude. Members should likewise be ready to have their mistakes pointed out – Mistakes are acceptable, defensive tears are not.

What we offer our members

- Experience: By joining Black Talons you will be playing along side experienced Guild Wars 2 PvP’ers. You will not only benefit from their leadership, but also learn a great deal and improve your own PvP ability. We regularly discuss builds and tactics, and there are always people available to answer questions.

- Challenge: BT heads out looking for large engagements in which the odds are actually stacked against us. We are not interested in taking on groups half our size. Groups of our size and larger are our target, and these are the sorts of challenging fights you will be a part of when running with us.

- Environment: When we are PvP’ing, it is expected that members listen to our commander, make calls when necessary and for the most part behave in a serious manner. Outside of PvP we are a very easy going bunch of people – the only disclaimer I would add is that thick skin would do you well, but we offer a friendly environment to enjoy PvP.

The recruitment section of our website can be viewed here, which will lead to our application form. Suitable applicants will be invited to join us in Teamspeak for an informal meet and greet, and will then enter a 2 week trial period.
