A Call To Americans

This is a call to arms! The EU Farshiverpeaks Server needs you to help bail them out! We Americans are known for sticking our noses into others wars here’s your chance to get in on that action too! Farshiverpeaks aka FSP is looking for more Americans to come fight by their side and remove the enemies from our borderlands and eb.
Here’s your chance to tell your grandkids you fought in a euro war! You’ll be able to reminisce about all of your glorious battles and a chance to show your battle prowess!

Why should you leave your NA server and come to FSP?

Are you having a hard time standing out in the crowd of many on NA servers? Want to get more recognition for your contributions to the server? Well as an American guild on a EU server you will get that! You’ll get the recognition you deserve for your contributions to the server here at FSP!

Be aware that there is no difference in lag or latency when playing on an EU server. Some of us have even gotten “less” lag being here.

From personal experience, and to be blunt, Euro servers are home to less trolls than NA servers. Map chat is usually clean and friendly and everyone gets along and works together.

What we are looking for

We are looking for guilds to help shore up our NA time period. Specifically, we are looking for about 1 or 2 guilds of 10-20 men and women. We already have 1 American guild here who would like to meet new people and have a few more to play with at night. Our current American guild tends to be borderland focused and try their best to defend homelands. They do a lot of map hopping at night and would like to have 1-2 other American/NA guilds to be able to have a bit of fun in their time slot.

1. We would like to have one guild who likes to focus EB as our current NA guild prefers to run havoc on enemy borders and defend home border. EB will offer said team lots of fights as well as excellent open field fighting and karma training (lots of karma training on an easy match). You will find that FSP tends to have almost all of their EB T3 most of the time. We have several players who make it their #1 priority to see that EB is T3.

2. A second guild who is similar to the current American team we have. One that likes defending when needed but likes to pressure the enemy BL’s as well. However, a zerg busting guild would be nice to have in this time slot, that we can call for defensive help on a whim.

3. Any and all guilds that come we would request that you remain positive at all times as we find we get better results with players when we are positive. The also makes for a more harmonious community. Our current American guild loves having fun and can be a bit wild at times, they tend not to take things too seriously so we would like people who can work with that. We DO NOT condone trolling fellow FSP players or map chat.

Pacific and Mountain time zones _would be a bonus. Our current American guild is mostly Eastern and Central time. So any guild that plays the west coast time means we extend the coverage hours. So all you people from the west of the Mississippi would be perfect! _

Also we don’t want to leave out Alaska and Hawaii _your 2 states have a unique time zone in that you are online after Pacific and Mountain time zones logs off so we could use a guild or 2 from your timezone in addition to the 2 other NA guilds. This would extend the NA time even further. _

What FSP Offers

FSP is a warm and welcoming place. We have a wonderful community that would be very welcoming to guilds that play in the NA time period.

FSP offers a chance for your guild to really shine! This is your chance to make a name for yourself. Your presence on our server matters.

FSP has very kind players. We have very few trolls. We try and keep map chat as clean as possible.

FSP offers a very competitive community. We finished 2nd (tied) in silver league in season 2. We worked very hard as a community to come together and pull that off. We even beat the #1 team (once) the only server to do that.

Bumping this thread as it is still needed here on FSP. With season coming and it looks like FSP will be in gold we really could use more NA guilds to make sure we at least put up a good fight.

Looking for west coast and mountain time zone to extend the coverage hours we currently have.

Bumping for FSP

I would love to play EU, NA mega dead. But that ping though! Worried ima suffer lag and thats just gonna get annoying, I xfer to EU over a year ago and thats how it was not sure if its still the same. Otherwise i would xfer in a heartbeat.

Probably our NA people will answer you with more certainly but as I heard there is no so big latency for NA’s at least on FSP :> and some people even has less lag.

Reading forums its definetely more action in EU Gold league than in NA, we got plenty action for roamers, guild groups and just when you want to “karma train” a bit, so dont be shy and give FSP a try! :>

Hey there, I would check with your ISP about that lag. The NA and EU servers are all in the same spot (Texas, correct me if I’m wrong) so there is no difference.

Have several NA friends on my list playing on EU server and noone mentioned ever any ping issues that had restricted their game experience.

Not to mention that there will be more than enough fights in the gold tier even during the EU night during the season. But still without having huge blobs on every map.

I’m not Amber, and that thread you posted does not prove anything. The point is, I’ve never heard anyone in NUDE complaining about having lag due to being on EU server. Ever.
And if you didn’t see (which wouldn’t surprise me, considering you are spouting out a bunch of crap), we are in big boy gold league now, so there is no such thing as Pvdoor.

The North American and European data centers are different in one important respect: they are located on different continents. North American players connecting to the NA data center (and European Union players connecting to the EU data center) will generally experience lower latency and a higher likelihood of playing with larger groups of other players, as those in the same data center tend to operate during similar times of the day. So there are real distinctions between the data centers which their EU/NA affiliations make clear and for that reason we will not be removing their continent designations.

We don’t match up worlds from multiple data centers for similar reasons. Ultimately, the server that runs a WvW map must live somewhere in the world and the players who connect from that same continent will have a distinct advantage over those connecting from another continent due to lower latency. In order to keep things as fair as possible to all involved we keep the matchups within each data center.

Of course it is always possible for an EU player to choose to play on an NA server, or vice-versa, but in doing so that player is choosing to take on the burden of additional latency. That situation is vastly different from our matching system placing an entire team at a latency disadvantage without their knowledge or consent.

tl;dr: data centers are on different continents, latency is an issue with inter-continental connections, data center distinctions are here to stay.

The only servers that have a real night crew worth mentioning are Deso and SFR imho.. and I talked about “good” fights but apparently it all depends what ppl define as good fights I guess.

Ignore the trolls. If you want to know what FSP is really like ask us that play FSP. Sure some weeks are better than others but isn’t that the case on every server?
