Greetings Guild Wars 2 Community,
Through our adventures in gaming we often times find ourselves joining a place to be with friends only to find friends slowly dissipate and eventually the reason you came some place soon becomes null and void. Just as friends come and go, new opportunities to share adventures and form new friendships await just beyond your borders.
I do not come to you today asking you to join Gaiscioch, I come to you today to give you the opportunity of joining a server like no other. Our choice of server was not one where we just chose a server name, or a council decided upon it. There is no “Person” who once they quit we will drift away.
Our server, Sanctum of Rall is a living monument to a player who loved Guild Wars 2 and loved to unite random everyday people in glorious battles that brought total strangers together to form lasting friendships and bond over battle.
In a recent interview with IGN about The People Who Live Forever In The Games They Loved Colin Johanson said, “We talked about a lot of ideas, at the time we were right in the middle of naming a lot of the worlds for the game and so we felt one of the best things we could do was to name a world after him, especially because one of the areas he really felt he could help make a difference for the community was in World vs World. So we moved quickly, named it, and ever since it’s been one of the most popular worlds in GW2. For a long time it was one of the top worlds in WvW and I love we have a world with that history and hopefully we’re doing him proud.”
Our time in Guild Wars 2 is a living testament to Roger’s life, to his compassion, and his love for the public groups. We commit every day we play Guild Wars 2 to carrying on his legacy.
A Community Like No Other
What makes Sanctum of Rall so different from the other servers? Besides being named after the memory of a man who influenced thousands, Sanctum of Rall is also home to some of the most welcoming, inclusive guilds and communities in Guild Wars 2.
Our server community is committed to putting a smile on the face of players in fun and interesting ways. Laughter is heard more that rude comment, smiles replace frustration, and most of all we make it our personal mission to fill each and every persons pockets with more loot than they can carry. No really, buy bigger bags.
The Server Who Drops The Phat Loot!
In the past we have held events that gave away Legendary weapons. During the Great Tyrian Adventure season 3, we gave away 7 Legendaries to raffle winners one of which was Eternity itself.
Right now we are in the middle of our next Community Event which the winner will be the person who fundraises the most for the Children’s Miracle Network in our ExtraLife Charity Event. Prizes for this event include: Sunrise to the top fundraiser, Precursors for Second Place, Tormentor Skins for Third Place, 20-Slot bags, Fulls sets of Exotic Armor and more. What About WvW?
It is true, once upon a time we were a Tier 1 server, in fact we were a first place server. Many of us who we’re here before that accent remember the journey. It began with a WvW community transferring to Sanctum of Rall and they began recruiting guilds for the big push to Tier 1. For those of us who remember before those days we were ranked #17 at the time. The primary WvW guilds came from Jade Quarry after a personal dispute caused them to seek refuge.
The journey to tier 1 was exciting but was eventful. The conflict between the natives and the WvW elite created a divide and in the end that divide would send us back to where we began. For many of you, you might be in a similar place right now. A guild or alliance has come to your server and vowed to take you to Tier 1, even if it’s by “Kicking and Screaming”. You might see your current culture beginning to crack or maybe it already fractured. Competitiveness is a double edge sword. To be the elite you must be the best, you must make sacrifices, you must be willing to do what it takes to win. This in turn puts stress on a community and adds tempers and egos which can be powerful if used correctly but can also decimate if left unchecked.
The Community that Sanctum of Rall is trying to build is not one of ego and competition but one of player satisfaction and enjoyment. Of brotherhood and camaraderie. We seek to unite the outcasts, the overlooked, and the discarded to band together and spend the time we do share on the battlefield conquering enemy territory and fighting in the open field. We are comical, friendly, and open. We have a wide range of personalities leading every day, some lead high skilled groups, while others lead casual groups. But what I can tell you is every single guild, player, and alliance on Sanctum of Rall works together to overcome our foes to the best of our ability. Every person is wanted, and is useful. We may never see tier 1 again, or even the top 3 tiers, but that won’t stop us from having fun, making memories, and making friendships.
We do offer a wide range of WvW Features for guilds and players:

In Closing
I wanted to write this post not as a representative of Sanctum of Rall but as a fellow player who happens to be the leader of Gaiscioch. I welcome anyone who is curious about Sanctum of Rall to write Xivor.8754, Sscripko.5387 or Foghladha.2506 and talk with us about what you could expect day to day from our server.
We aren’t the server for everyone, we’re the home for many. I do hope that you will try us out even if it’s just for season 3 and see how life within Guild Wars 2 could be much friendlier and full of memorable adventures. Thank you for reading this, if you’ve made it this far through this wall of text chances are you’re curious. Reach out and talk with us. I’m certain that the home you are searching for is just beyond your borders.

A Community Like No Other
What makes Sanctum of Rall so different from the other servers? Besides being named after the memory of a man who influenced thousands, Sanctum of Rall is also home to some of the most welcoming, inclusive guilds and communities in Guild Wars 2.
Definitely the best community in game I have seen yet! My guild has been on the server for 2 weeks now, but have observed for a week prior to moving. It is a community that works together and has fun being, not just a server, but a family. I’m proud to call this place home.
As for the Fall 2014 Tournament, [VEX] will be giving all we got. We are very excited to take part in the events for this tournament, and I know it will be a lot of fun.
We love you too, VEX! :-)
Indeed VEX you guys have been great to work with. And that Timmy guy ain’t bad either :P
I don’t love VEX. That would just be WEEEEEIIIIRRRRDDDD.
Welcome and yes it’s gonna be great!!!
I will say I came to SOR back when it was rank 17, prior to being rank 1.(I remember the struggles which Fog mentioned about climbing to the top of the ranks, however I also remember the fun.)
I did stay through Rank 1, and did take a break, however I returned about a month ago to GW2, and my home of SoR.
I have found many things have changed, except how friendly players tend to be, jokes on teamspeak, and overall fun in WvW. I am glad to see that SoR has survived the struggles of climbing to the top, and falling back down. It has shown that SOR will continue to stand up and move forward no matter how hard it may be.
@ [VEX] <3 y’all. ^.^
Also to any interested in joining SOR hope to see you soon.

Thank you for the good words. Our numbers are lighter than we would like, but I feel that our community is a strong point of ours. Those remaining here have a certain level of resiliency, and have really stepped up to the plate. Now, SoR has dedicated WvW guilds once again, except these guilds are focused on working together, building up our community, and training/coaching new players/PvE players (instead of shunning them as previous guilds did). Most of our recent growth has come from recruiting within the server, rather than buying guilds. Not bad when you have very little as a starting point.
I am proud of you all, Sanctum of Rall!
And that Timmy guy ain’t bad either :P
Maybe reserve judgement until after you’ve watched the first episode of “Spelling with Peanut.”
Best. Video. Ever. Karaoke, you should be the official SoR spokesperson. Your way with words with a sarcastic undertone is impeccable! Loved that video!
Having a solid start to the tournament. SoR is a solid contender for Bronze League #1. 1-2 new guilds could make a world of difference. But above all, bolstering our community is #1. We strive to keep the toxicity levels low. There is a world of opportunity on SoR. Message me to see how your guild can make a difference!
I believe this as well
Just won Commander of the week a few weeks back. One of my guildies one an exotic prize last week for WvW participation! SoR loves rewarding its community members for their participation!
Wow, just won another prize in the raffle for participation in a WvW event under another commander! This time, I chose an exotic worth 15g! Sanctum of Rall loves to reward people for participating in the community! Join a community that cares about those within its borders!
Won yet another Commander of the week. New siege in my inbox! Love the community on SoR, and love how we are willing to reward those that participate in our WvW community.
Relieved of some toxic people recently. Community building once again the focus! If you are looking to help build up a stronger, positive WvW community, inquire within!
