Garnished Toast
I was able to jump into EB with no queue at 5:30pm EDT today. While rare it should say something since we are winning our current match up.
Typically EB has a 20min queue, TCBL is a 5min queue and the other BLs are walk-ins welcome on an average night.
Reset nights do get queues (EB can be up to a couple hours, TCBL 30min, others 15-20mins depending on who it is.), but I think that is the case for any server that is T2 or above.
Well, as a TC player I can tell you that…
- most players have a great help-each-other-when-you-can atmosphere
- there are alot of players like you that don’t RP on TC but are only here because RP-servers tend to be nicer servers
- you can blob on TC or you can go solo or you can go in a small group, your pick
- we have pretty long queues on all BLs on reset night, but the rest of the week, it’s exceptional that there are queues everywhere
- about… hmmmm… 2 in 3 WWWers use mumble, but it’s not a must-have (except in some guilds)
For the rest… just be nice, talk about pie and we will certainly welcome you with open arms! Unless you steal our cookies. We’re not nice to cookie-stealers, no we’re not!
Always carries a towel – Never panics – Eats cookies.
Tier 1-Tier 3 will probably be where you find the most fun in WvW. T1 being a little more hardcore and a little less so as you move down the tiers (though that’s not true of certain guilds).
TC would be a great server to transfer to. Friendly people, great to fight, great guilds etc etc.

I’m on TC and love it. When they announced they were going to stop free server transfers I bounced around for a while, got to TC and I don’t think I’ll ever leave. It’s a very different environment than other servers. Serious when we need to be, but if not, we have fun and act a bit silly. Very little drama/blaming. Much more “oh well, we got some loot bags anyways, good try” sort of attitude.
It takes some one doing something really moronic to get people upset at you. Most of the time you’ll just have players trying to help others improve instead.
I would HIGHLY recommend using the server mumble. It’s far faster and easier to communicate that way. The commanders usually try to type things out if they have time, but that’s not always possible. A lot of the fun also is in mumble (some people are quite amusing).
The RP side of TC isn’t really in WvW though if that’s what you were looking to do (although I’m sure there are a few that do it occasionally).

That video is a perfect example, why I should transfer lol
Thanks for everyone’s advice so far, I’m seriously considering it. Prob going to sleep on it for now though.
ps: I’ll try to leave my cookie thievery in the darkhaven I come from. I may even retire my thief all together and cease stealing completely.
Come for the WvW, stay for the ERP.
focus on Dungeons, Fractals and Raiding.
Come for the WvW, stay for the ERP.
odd, it was the other way around for me.

Now if we could just combine the two…
focus on Dungeons, Fractals and Raiding.
Also, I hear its not just blobs in TC
I respect TC, I cheer for them when we are not facing them….but that’s the most untrue thing I’ve read today (and there have been some whoppers.)

Agree. TC is many good things, but they are a PPT server that mostly blobs.
We have many skilled havoc groups constantly on. As havoc you try to go undetected/unnoticed. If you’re being all flashy and obvious you’re going to attract a much larger group (this some times happens by chance anyways though).
If you want to blob though, yes there is often one around. How else are people supposed to take keeps with 20 arrow carts and an opposing server blob inside?
How many do you guys consider a blob btw? The vast majority of the time I’m with less than 25.

We have some good commanders on TC who direct small teams to do different tasks then rejoin the zerg. The small teams tend to be pretty small so they might not be that noticable unless you hear them in Mumble.
Voice comm is a big deal in TC. All of the commanders disparage people who are not in Mumble in pretty strong terms. The commands are often detailed and you would be expected to hear them.
ITT: other servers are jealous of us

Just to clarify you don’t need to have a mic, just being able to listen makes a huge difference.
