Background
Helioz [Hel] is a dedicated World vs World guild that was initially formed on SoR in 2013 and transferred to Tarnished Coast in February of 2014. We are committed Toasties; this community is our home and we work hard and have fun supporting it.
Who We Are
Other Toasties refer to us as the United Nations of [Hel] and rightly so, as our friendly members come from all over the globe. We have the best and sexiest accents in the game in Mumble. Unlike the real UN however, we all get along well and get things done without acrimony mainly because we are mature people kittenpect one another, and recognize that this is a game where the primary purpose is to have fun…while taking out JQ and BG. We also respect our enemies, unless they are 80 man blobs holed up in Hills behind 100 ACs, and won’t come out to play. In which case, let the Monty Python jokes roll: ‘I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!’
We Are Unique
For many reasons, including our great sense of humor and Green Arrow’s famous golem rushes. We have scheduled raids (see below) that actually permit EU, NA and SA players to play together. Also some Aussies who have strange sleep patterns. Our commanders are fun, knowledgeable and polite. They excel at open field fighting, organised scrims as well as pushing ppt when needed. taking and defending, and LOOK for fights. If they don’t find them, they make them. Also, they have great accents, did we mention that already?
Raid Times
Every day except for Saturdays. We allow our 7 commanders one day of rest.
Raids usually start ~8 pm GMT/~4 pm EST/~1 pm PST. We say goodnight to most, not all, of our EU guildies three hours later. You can then expect to see one of our NA commanders tagging up ~12 pm GMT/~ 8pm EST/~ 5 pm PST for another three hours or so. Often later. Join in when you can.
Note: Fridays are usually designated EOTM baggie days .No scheduled Friday raid at reset, most of us reserve that night for significant others or for finding one. SATURDAY is your free night but often people get together for missions or a raid
Try Us Out
- Join us in mumble in one of our raids and say hello! Be warned that Wednesday is Pub Night for the Euros so if a Commander starts singing, just mute them.
- We are a wvw focused guild, which means that should be your focus too and we ask that you rep us 90 % of the time and 100 % if you are in our raid.
- We do not force builds on anyone but we have knowledgeable guild members and run a guild meta which most people happily follow, members will happily theory craft and give you suggestions on builds and gear and help you. If you are interested in commanding, we will help with that too.

btw for those who think we are just EURO think again
I know many in TC think of us as an EU guild. We have many EU members (we are special) but note that the EU raids generally start at 7.30 – 8pm server 4 pm EST, which is 1 pm Pacific if you are on the West Coast. There are quite a few NA people who join in when they can and we usually continue raiding with the NA people, when most of the EU go to sleep. Some of the EU who also command like Vhrael (our guild vampire) and Miinja (awesome German mesmer) often stay with us until the sun comes up or they fall asleep at the keyboard.
Our commander MAJOR EREBUS runs late NA in the Pacific Time Zones. Crabcakes, I think is central, and we have a lot of night owl east coast people. So you will see many of us on late night NA too. Around 11 pm Pacific time, the EUs start waking up and logging in again.
So don’t let the EU label prevent you from checking us out. We would like to get more NA peeps in. Cya ingame
