Guild Wars 2

I’m going to try to not make this post too lengthy; I’ll probably be a bit verbose. I’m going to start by giving a bit of background to state where I’m at.

At the moment, I’ve been working with a friend to get a legendary item / enjoy the new content as it comes out. We’ve played Guild Wars 2 on/off since beta; we very heavily played GW1. At the moment, I’m really looking for a social/fun/friendly guild to join. My main issue in the past is I’ll join guilds that say this is their mission; I’ll run into there just being inner cliques; there’s no attempt to make a connection with newer recruits. I don’t want to join a guild where I feel I have to perform for and/or suck up to other players to strike up a conversation.

So ideally I’m looking for a guild with mature players that’s actually willing to spend the time to socialize and make friendships. I consider myself to be a veteran player at this point; I’m still very willing to learn and coordinate team wise in any way necessary. I’m not opposed to using any attached voice chat service; I’d prefer it not be completely mandatory for those times where you just don’t want to use your voice (in short, it’d be nice if both in-game text chat and voice chat were options).

I’m presently more PvE-focused than WvW; I don’t mind joining it for fun now and again. There’s still quite a bit to do for this legendary item, so I mostly wanted to spruce in some fun group activities as the grind wheel goes along.

In terms of other games, I do play League of Legends, Warframe, Hearthstone, and a few other random PC games from time-to-time. I’m a big fan of anime; I probably watch too much of it to be honest.

Just curious if you’re willing to try any guild that’s not based on HoD?

That’s not really a problem, honestly. I’m open to non-HoD guilds, as well, since social/PvE is my main desire. I’m just looking for a nice fit

Heya Muranodo! We’re not on HoD, but if you’re willing to guest (you wouldn’t have to transfer), I think my guild, Ember Solace, would really fit what you’re looking for. We’re a small (50-ish members), causal guild full of people who really care about each other. Although we do have some sPvP activities (and some of our members WvW together), our main focus is PvE.

We do have TeamSpeak3, but it’s not required, and while people do hang out there and use it to talk, we also have plenty of people who use guild chat, too. We do Guild Missions (usually on Saturdays), and we really love helping people. Things like assisting with personal story quests, helping people get the Dungeon Master title, and providing assistance with questions like, “How do you get _ item?” and “What’s the best build for ____ class?”

A few of our members play other games, too, and we have a section for talking about that and sharing screen names, screenshots, etc. We also have a Social Officer who hosts all kinds of fun things, from Trivia Nights to writing contests to the raffle that’s currently going on until the end of the month.

If you’re interested, you can stop by our forums; if you register, you can get read-access to our GW2 sections, so you can get a feel for our community and the way people tend to treat each other (plus you can see our scheduled events). We do have a brief application, but it’s really short and just designed to help us get to know people. And if you have any questions, I’m here. Ok, so now that I have your attention- If you’re looking for a guild that’s community focused, I would definitely recommend The True Inquisitors. As long as you’re willing to talk in guild chat and not shy away, you’ll feel like you’ve known us for years.

Personality wise, we’re very, very (I cannot stress this enough) VERY goofy and don’t take the actual gaming very seriously- the primary thing in our guild is for the most part is experiencing the game together and making connections. Sometimes the guild will gather together to play cards against humanity online, or crack dirty jokes while knocking around champion creatures, it’s not much of a guild for organized raids but more for the socially inclined players.

Another fun thing, is that we’re part of an online community known as the Inquisitors that’s spread across diff. games- so if you like socializing out of guild in Skype chat or are in other games like DoTa, Final Fantasy 14, etc. and want more company, you will definitely enjoy your time with us. Whether you’ve been in here for years or for a week, as long as you throw yourself into the conversation you won’t know where you begin and the rest of us end.
