Greetings

Jade Quarry has traveled a long road up to this point in GW2. JQ has a veteran core of players that have fought in multiple tiers since launch. We’ve had many changes over this past year and these changes have molded us in becoming an even better community. JQ is in the midst of rebuilding; seeking like-minded guilds and players that have a strong passion for WvW. We’ve found a new resolve— stronger and bolder than ever before. New experiences for both new & returning faces lie ahead!

We will not bore you to tears with the minutia – instead, we shall show you our resolve and focus.

We have embraced the idea that WvW is supposed to be enjoyable, not just a second occupation. Long gone are the days of needing to stay on for another two hours because you’re behind on PPT and you have that coverage gap. Now come the days when you spend another few hours in WvW just because it was actually good fun. We have embraced those which other “communinty-focused” worlds pushed to the side – milita. Jade Quarry’s core is the miitia. We have created an accepting and friendly community for any and all players. Even players from our ‘linked’ servers are welcome to run with Jade Quarry. It is because of this community’s foundation that we are doing quite well in T2. It is because of this foundation we are rebuilding to return to T1.

RECRUITMENT

We’d like to be competitive to ensure an enjoyable fight between the worlds when we return to T1. We would like to field more active WvWers across all prime-times (NA, SEA, EU, OCX); ideally bringing in guilds who enjoy all aspects of GW2 and are happy to support the server community. Jade Quarry players like to enjoy WvW no matter what time you log-in. We are also in no particular rush. We would prefer that interested players and guilds take the time to get to know the server and be sure that we’re the right world for them to call home.

We are currently focusing on filling in some of our gaps:

• 1 EU Guild
• 1 EU Commander
• 1 OCX Guild
• 2 NA Guilds

• Lack of Queues – 1 map queued during NA outside reset & 1-2 maps queued in SEA

Thanks for creating the post. I will be creating some videos showing the militia of JQ in action for any commanders looking to transfer. JQ militia can support any commander willing to lead. JQ is militia powered and the militia doesn’t lose morale if we losing matchup.

I have to say, with the recent changes JQ is by far the best server I’ve been part of over the years.

I’d also like to add that new players are welcome. You don’t have to be part of an elite guild group to join us. I’m happy to help people get up to speed and enjoy the fun we’re having on JQ.

And Cloudfly is the most amazing militia commander I’ve ever seen. I have been on all the top servers and many other servers, also in EOTM, and there is just nobody like him. He is a real hero to JQ.

I really hope you guys get your TS issues cleared up before more people join. You are the only server I know set for “push to talk” which makes it difficult for new commanders to come up there. For instance, on reset last night, a friend of mine tagged up because there was not a tag at ALL on one of the BLs (on reset!!! what’s up with that??), but soon found that he couldn’t command since he had to “push-to-talk” while commanding, which is practically impossible to do. That’s just stupid. No wonder JQ is so short of commanders all the time. If people don’t want to hear other people they need to learn to use their kitten MUTE button. That’s what it’s there for. Enough said.

On JQ maybe. And that is just stupid, like I said. No need to start personal attacks and – fyi – I really don’t like that word. Many people who play these games have motor skill issues and other types of conditions which make it difficult to do all the things we have to do at once with our hands. Some are home bound and that’s why they play these games a lot. As a special education teacher, it’s my opinion that a bit of compassion on your part would be in line.

Anyway, if you want more new commanders then remove the barriers they experience when trying to command. If not, then keep going the way you are with players on EBG at all hours of the day going “no tag???” and the commanders there never using TS because, well, it’s just too kitten difficult. Haven’t you wondered why your TS is empty all the time unless HzH or some other big guild is using it? Why do you even bother paying for a TS, anyway, when it’s empty most of the time?

Wasn’t attacking. If you are handi-capable then you can request voice activation detection was meant to inform.

Voice activation detection leads to lots of background noise and random chatter, grunting, heavy breathing etc. Push to talk requires very little effort if any and muscle memory takes over so pretty much a non-issue. Not commanding because you have to hold a push to talk key = empty ts3 is exaggeration imo. TS3 gives plenty of privileges to commanders like temp ban, temp perms (+ auto verify etc so they don’t have to devote time to verify). TS3 needs to be advertised and ebg crew is usually more casual then borderland so they are more hesitant to join ts3 regardless of push to talk or not. Just have to keep at it.

There is no “ts issue” to clear up. Push to talk is the preferred default on JQ from experience and testing. There are several verifiers, like myself, available to give Commander’s push to talk if asked.

Thank you for reaffirming the reason for this thread, that JQ has plenty of available space.

I’ve been on several servers throughout the life of this game and JQ provides the friendliest WvW experience by far.
