I’ll try to keep this as short, yet informative, as possible. [KoD] started as a small group of hometown friends who played GW2 [among numerous other games] together. We picked up some new, dedicated members along the way and are slowly growing. We’re still pretty small though in comparison to lots of the larger guilds on the server. We’ve been hovering about 20 members lately. For those of you seeking a tight-knit group, this is the place to start. For those of you seeking opportunities to shape a developing guild, this is the place for you.
What we offer
- A friendly and relaxed environment for you to pass your time away.
- Comms are not mandatory although we have them. We leave that up to the discretion of the player to utilize voice chat or not. [Our Teamspeak 3 server shall be brought back online shortly]
- An understanding that real life always comes first. Most of us are in college. We have jobs, classes, and other obligations of our own. You likely have obligations of your own as well, and that’s totally fine.
- An IRC channel for those of you who utilize such means of communication. #ara?@irc.rizon.net
- Some Guild buffs [upon request] and Guild Bounty missions are in the works!
Our Playstyle
- PvE – We’ll often work on dailies together and do world bosses, champions, and map completion. We love dungeons, and want to start doing fractals soon.
- WvW – We offer a Commander tag and we focus on more small-scale skirmish warfare. We prefer to roam in smaller groups of 5-10 to flip camps and knock on [and hopefully capture] towers.
- We’re currently EST based for time zones. The times which we’re online vary per day, but you’re likely to see us online in the evening and on weekends the most.
What we ask of you
- To be friendly.
We want to foster strong and healthy connections between our guildmates. Don’t feel shy or hesitate to get involved. Chat with us! Start a party to go run a certain dungeon path or kill that champ that you’ve been struggling with! We want you to make the most of your gaming experience.
- To have a thick skin.
We like to poke fun at each other and NSFW language isn’t exactly uncommon. So if you’re the type that simply abhors foul language or can’t take a joke, you probably won’t enjoy our presence very much.
- To understand real life comes first.
Say exams roll around or one week we have more homework than usual or one night I’m going to a party, etc. Every active member is not always online everyday. That’s not to say that our core group is not active and involved as a whole.
- To speak up.
If you decide to leave or don’t like something about the Guild, tell one of the officers. Speak your mind. We’ve had members join us, decline opportunities to play with us, and eventually simply leave. For what reason? We’re not too sure ourselves. But if there’s things we can improve upon, we want to know. A Guild is a community and we all work together to make the community better for the whole.
