Hello potential guildmates!!!

I am going to break this whole post into two groups so people will both know what I am looking for and for what kind of guildmate they will be getting.

What type of player/person am I:

- I have played GW1 and GW2 since 2007
- I am an older gamer but I still can play
- This is the only game I dedicate my time too, because I love this game
- I play every aspect of the game with PVE and dungeons being my primary focus
- I have been an officer or mentor in every guild I have been. I naturally like to help people and teach them the game. But what I do not like to do is hold peoples hands every time I play with them. I truly believe their is a difference between teaching people and doing the content for them.
- I like to play this game with other people. If that means I am leveling or doing dailies I would much rather do it with other people, that is why I play this game and not a single player game like Skyrim.
- Voice coms like TeamSpeak are important to me as it makes getting to know your guildmates much easier and can really enhance the whole gaming experience. I think more people should use voice coms for the simple reason it makes the game better to play and organize.
- I enjoy making and participating in player driven content like lotteries, scavenger hunts, contests, trivia you name it. If it adds another layer to the game I am all for it.
- I have strong personality that sometimes can be a little brash but I will not start or tolerate drama. I would rather walk away, mute or block an individual then deal with drama. I play this game for the enjoyment not stress.
- I enjoy playing with both men and women. I hope I can one day convince my wife to come back to play the game, and I know if there are other couples or women in the guild it would make the possibility even better.
- I love my cheevos!!! I know their are other people out there with more cheevos than me, but I love getting those chests with the free loot.

What I am looking for:

- Adult guildmates (or at least mature say 25+ would be a good number)
- Experienced guildmates – looking for people that could show me things or simply not have to explain every facet of the game to them
- Active guildmates – players that log in almost on a daily basis
- Long Haul guildmates – players that are here for the long haul and not just here until the next big thing comes out
- Player driven content or activities – from lotteries, scavenger hunts, trivia, contests and so and so
- Medium to Large Roster – the more guildmates means better chance to find people to do things with
- Voice Coms – this is a big one for me, as I play with a G13 and G600 gamepad and mouse so for me to type to anyone means I have to take my hands off my controls and that usually means I end of dead
- Regular dungeon run group – I usually pug most quick paths daily put would rather do them with guildmates

There are probably a lot of things I missed in both groups but hopefully you get the idea.

So hopefully you like what you hear and that you have what I am looking for in a guild, and I can’t wait to hear from some of you.

Hello,
With the mega server system I do not believe this would be an issue, we are The Forgotten Soldier [TFS]. We are based out of Fort Aspenwood; however, we do have members that play on other servers. We have been around under the TFS name since August 7th 2013. We have been under another guilds name since launch. Most of us are GW1 veteran players, adults, and specialize in multiple aspects of the game. We use Team Speak 3 as our method of communication.

Our Rules:
Be Respectful
Don’t be sexest
Rep at least 75% of the time

If you’re interested just hit me up

Hiya, Miles! Thanks for explaining about you and everything you’re looking for; it really helps guild recruiters.

So from what you’ve said, I think my guild, Ember Solace, could be a good fit for you. We’re on Tarnished Coast, but with the megaserver system, that won’t be an issue unless you’re wanting to do WvW. You said “every aspect,” so I wasn’t sure, but if you ever did decide you wanted to transfer, we do cover half the cost for members.

We have many older gamers in the guild, including those in their 40s and 50s. We do have some younger members, including those in their early 20s, but I assure you we have a very mature atmosphere. We actually have a detailed Purpose and Principles that we require everyone to read and sign when joining, and I’ve found that between that and our application process, we have an amazing member group.

Anyone who registers on our forums gets read-access to our GW2 sections (and can read our ShoutBox), so you could always try that and see if we give off the kind of vibe you’re looking for.

While we do have a lot of newbies (and some who just bought the game a few weeks ago), we also have a strong base of members who have been playing since launch. We enjoy mentoring each other in different facets.

We also have a 100% rep policy and activity policy that ensures our members are loyal and active, and we’re definitely in it for the long haul, as you said.

Currently, we have 75 members in the guild. We have anywhere from 40-55 log in every day, with our main activity happening during the evening EST time zone. We use TeamSpeak3, and most people use it for activities. We don’t require anyone to use it, but it’s very active during peak times. Lots of members enjoy dungeons and many do daily dungeons of one sort or another. It’s easy to find someone else to team up with, and two of our PvE Assistants, Kiore and Speitzer, are forming a regular dungeon group.

We also have a very active social side to the guild. Our Social Officer, Kaz, hosts several events from giveaways to GW2 Trivia to Guess the Number to Music Trivia (clips of music played over TS where people have to guess the song). Additionally, I run a weekly GW2 Riddle Contest and am hosting a November Art & Writing Contest with gold prizes. If you’d like to read more about any of that, it’s under our Social Corner on the forums (but you’ll need to register to get read access).

If you have any questions, I’d love to answer them. You can reply here or send me a message in game. I hope we hear from you soon, Miles!

Hi there,

You might be interested in Vintage Gaming [VG] on Jade Quarry. We’re a medium-sized (~250 members) PvX guild, with a primary emphasis on PvE. Here are some point-by-point details:

  • Adult – Our guild is mostly mature, adult players — mid-20s or older. We are not, however, an exclusively adult guild. We do have some college-age members, and a handful who are younger than that. We place a lot of importance on having an inclusive and safe guild community. We do not tolerate any disrespect or drama. Like you, we all play this game to have fun.
  • Experienced – Our guild has many very experienced players. We have many GW1 vets, many people who have been playing since launch, a dozen people in the NA Top 1000 for AP, people who do 49 or 50 fractals on a regular basis, you get the idea. Once again, however, we are not exclusively a guild for veteran players. We have many folks who are casual, fairly new, or even brand new, and everything in between.
  • Active – We have sizable core of active players in the guild. We usually see ~30 players online throughout most of the day (NA), with 40-50 players online during NA evening hours.
  • Longhaul – While any guild inevitably has people who come and go, we have a strong core group who has been with the guild for a long time. I’ve personally been in the guild just short of two years. We also tend to attract back a lot of the members who stopped playing GW2 but decided to start playing again.
  • Activities – We do a fair amount of player-driven fun activities. A sample of a few of our activities in October for Halloween: zombie hide and seek, death race through the Labyrinth, a costume contest.
  • Voice comms – We currently use Mumble for voice comms. Not everyone chooses to use it, but we get a pretty decent number of people on it each day, primarily during NA evening hours.
  • Dungeons – We do a lot of dungeons and fractals every day. Lots of groups forming in guild chat.
  • Women in the guild – We have a strong representation by women in the guild. One of our guild leaders is female, and a third of our officers are female.

A few additional things: we are a fairly casual guild with a wide spectrum of player types. As a guild, we don’t really have any expectations from anybody, except to be respectful of others. We do guild missions twice a week on Saturday and Wednesday evenings. Our guild is also a staple of Jade Quarry’s daily Tequatl kill. For WvW and sPvP, we have many people who are interested and will do them individually or in small groups. We have a 50% rep policy, so some of our members take advantage of that to join special interest guilds like WvW or world boss guilds.

You’re welcome to give us a try. No hard feelings if you decide we’re not for you. I’ll follow-up with you tonight in-game.
