Guild Wars 2

Hi there!

I’ve been playing GW2 off and on for over a year now and have finally started to look around at some guilds! I’m from the Isle of Janthir but usually guest on Tarnished Coast. I usually have a decent amount of time to play during the week and on weekends. Mostly interested in PvE oriented guilds but would be open to trying other styles of play.

I have two characters. My main is a level 80 Ranger, who is also in TTS for the sake of killing Teq, heh.

My other character is a newbie. Level 35 Charr warrior. Just wanted to try it out so I used that level 20 boost bonus. Still trying to get used to her, haha.

Anywho, like I said, looking for nice, casual people to play with. I’m in my 20’s so people around my age to play with would be pretty cool.

I think MadCast Gaming would be a nice fit for you, we are based on Sanctum of Rall, and are generally PvE focused. We do have days for WvW and PvP though!

MadCast is a gaming community that is bigger than GW2, but we are working on growing our GW2 sector right now. You can check out our website at http://www.madcastgaming.com/ips/forums.
I especially suggest you read through the forums some to get a feel for what we are all about! Here are some points you may find attractive about MadCast:

• We have a mature community. While MadCast has no specific age requirements we do have high expectations for maturity. You will find kind, patient people and no drama. The vast majority of our members are over 18 (especially in GW2). Most of our GW2 members are older with careers, and many have families and children.

• We are a serious community with casual gameplay. In other words, the main expectations we have for members revolves around positive contribution to the community and not on a packed GW2 schedule attendance. If you are active in the forums and show up to a few events a week, that is good enough for us. Additionally, because we are casual our community is made out of all levels of players. We have many very new players, some new to gaming in general, and our environment is built on kindness and helpfulness. People will be happy to answer your questions and guide you through things no matter how basic or advanced.

• We have a super awesome, active TeamSpeak group. We enforce strict rules of respectfulness and tolerance among our players, making it a safe friendly place for everyone. People of all types feel comfortable joining in the conversation and making new friends.

• Our community is bigger than in-game. We have a website with a lot of activity and heavy forum use. This is a huge asset because we have people who play all kinds of games over at MadCast, and the forums really serve as the uniting factor among people.

If you check out our website, you will see information about becoming a Full Member of MadCast. This is not something you need to do right away. Our guild welcomes ‘Associate’ Members, meaning we will add you to the guild, you are free to use our TeamSpeak and join our Forums, but you do not have complete access rights for inviting people to the guild yourself, or accessing certain Full Member parts of our forum.

This is a good way to find out if MadCast is the right fit for you before applying. In the long run, to gain any ranking position, we require people to be an official MadCast Full Member.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. I wold really like to have people to do dungeons with. I’ve heard people getting upset with rangers cause we’re squishy and whatever so I’ve never really gotten into it.

I am a casual gamer myself (it took me forever to get my mesmer to lvl 46), and I was looking for a close-knit community to be a part of. I stumbled across a recruitment thread for Remnants of Hope, and have had a wonderful time.

Remnants is a guild focused on community, and the people behind the avatars first. We are active in game with events for all aspects of PvE (including live story events, jumping puzzles, Fractals of the Mists, dungeons both spontaneous and pre-formed groups, guild missions, and others), Roleplay, WvW, and PvP.

The focus is on having fun, and not on ability. We seek mature members who have active lives, and like to enjoy all that GW2 offers. Our community also extends to other games as well with established divisions for SW TOR, and FFXIV, as well as other games.

You can get a much better write-up on it by reading Dahkeus’ recruitment post. You can also take a peek at our calendar for some of our November events. You can also check out our previous months’ events to see our level of pre-scheduled activity. We also run pre-formed dungeon groups where members post their availability on a spreadsheet with what dungeons that they would like to run, and then a group is selected the week before for them. This helps those who are on a tight schedule to know that they have a dungeon group ready (but these are done through messages and not posted on the calendar, but we run 4-5 of them a week!)

While I’m not sure if our age restriction would be problematic for you, I believe you would feel quite at home in our guild.

I’m not sure, specifically, what age you are so I can’t attest as to how many people we have that’s your age, but as far as casual, nice and respectful go: we’ve got that in spades!

About us:

Just Us Grown ups [JUGs] is a very friendly, drama-free guild which is comprised of people 30 yr.s old and older (our minimum required age is 25).

We are on the Jade Quarry server which is one of the three top-ranked servers for WvW. It’s also a high population PvE server and players from all other servers come to ours to participate in it’s events.

We have an even mix of male and female players and welcome both new and veteran players. We place a high value on community. We have a great website and a fully upgraded guild of over 150 members.

I think I should have made my title a little more specific for people to sort through. Adding more information as I read along shouldn’t hurt though. I’m in the Central time zone. And my “weekend” is actually during the beginning of the week. I’m normally unavailable Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon, and Sunday night.

Hey Dreygor! First I have to say Rangers are awesome! Not squishy at all, and they totally kick butt in Twilight Arbor! (My main is a ranger as well). You might check out Cynical http://www.cynicalgw2.com/home if you haven’t already found a guild. We are on TC and are largely PvE although we do a little bit of everything. Very friendly and I have never had a problem running dungeons with my guildies, thats the great thing about a good guild, everyone helps each other out.
