This might end up long, so I apologize in advance for that, but I like being thorough as I am not one to jump around guilds etc. and want to get it right.
I am on Borlis Pass, but since servers don’t matter as much, I will consider cross server etc. As long as I can do things with the guild when needed, that doesn’t matter I think as much for GW2, so I originally had Borlis Pass in the title, but moved it here.
Personal Info:
35 married, played almost every MMO there is lol. Started with Dark Ages of Camelot so really loved the WvWvW in that game, played a Shadowblade/Shadowdancer, forgot the name for Midguard, and then moved onto Bonedancer as I love casters and they were slightly OP. Then WoW came along and I mained Warlock and then found my love for healing and mained Shaman for most of my WoW career. Played and raided heavily in Vanilla and Wrath and done some raids in other expansions, but those were my “hardcore” days. Warhammer Online I was a shaman as they could ranged dps and heal, and recently in FFXIV I was a Scholar since they were ranged damage and healing. See the pattern here?
Playstyle:
I usually gravitate to ranged mages as I like the flavor of magic and mages in general. So when I first heard about GW2 at a gencon event I got crazy excited for the game, I had played some GW1 before, but never got huge into it. So I jumped back into GW1 and did all of the grinding to unlock things for GW2 when it came out. Can’t remember how much I got, but some. Then GW2 came out and I was loving it. I started Necro and got it to 80, but just wasn’t happy with the weapon skills etc, so I moved to engineer. I Liked engineer a lot but another thing that I absolutely hate is ground targeted aoes. I hate having to target things while I’m also moving around and running from things on the ground etc. So I got tired of necro and engineer with their targeting. I somewhat dealt with it by having it auto target on my target, but engineer bombs not having an auto attack was tough, my fingers couldn’t take it so I ended up quitting. I came back shortly when HoT released, but just couldn’t get into Srapper since it was melee.
I have finally settled on Ranger. It’s not really magic, which is meh, but I really like Axe/Torch, so I have been running conditions. I am slowly working on getting Ascended gear and working towards getting there. I will run Druid if needed for raids/events etc, but I’m running a personal build for solo world farming for now. I like that this game has a ton of stuff at high end. I miss the real “progression” feel, but that might come with raids, but map completion and the exceedingly long crafting “carrots” give a lot to work for in small chunks.
What I’m looking for:
I am no longer a hardcord raider, 4 hours a night for 4 nights a week like back in my WoW days. But when I am on, I play to win. I don’t like super complicated rotations, but I try my best to best at whatever class I am playing: Showing up on time, having consumables, best gear I can, etc. My playtimes are nightly around 7-10/11 EST, can push that a bit later for raids a few nights a week as well. I am interested in Raiding, Dungeons, World Events, whatever there is really. I am not super wanting to PvP a lot, but WvW I would get into, but soloing there isn’t that great, with a guild I would be about it tho.
I am on forums constantly during the day at work and other times and would love to have a guild with an active chat Discord to discuss builds and signup for events that night etc. I have a mic but don’t talk too much on chat platforms, but I will for events/raids etc once the wife is asleep around 9 Eastern.
I am still learning the ins and outs of the game again and plan to be around for awhile, I Bought the big edition of PoF and am working through all of the Story Seasons and HoT that I have missed. So I will need some training for raids and dungeons other events, so need a guild that’s willing to help with teaching, but once I learn something I’ll help out all I can. I am not looking for a specifically large guild as I like to solo a lot as well, but if it’s a larger guild, I am ok with that as well.
Hopefully someone will read the wall of text and help me find a new home!
Thanks for reading,
Lid
