Guild Wars 2

My current guild is essentially dead at this point but I still seem to still be motivated to play. Thus I figured would shoot this out there to see if there are any great options for me specifically.

What I am looking for is a casual, yet skilled/knowledgeable guild that is on the small to medium size. The guild needs to be large or active enough that it can pull groups together (without pugs) yet small enough that you can really get to know the people who you play with regularly. (Ie. I don’t want a guild run to feel like a pug run.)

By casual I mean that the people are there to enjoy the game and that it is enjoyable to run with them. I have no interest in a guild that would dictate which professions, equipment or skills would be used for a simple dungeon run. (ie no war zerker CoF) Again, casual only please.

On top of all that, I’ll put in one more requirement, I would really like to finish Arah (1 path down thus far). It doesn’t seem like a fun one to pug, so it would be a great way to kitten how casual and enjoyable a new guild might be. Please note that I am looking for people who know Arah and are willing to teach Arah, not for a group that will try and stumble through it (although that would be a great attitude and meet the rest of the requirements).

Other nice to haves would be lvl 30+ FotM runs and maybe even some WvW (Which I would be new to)

…. now with all those demands, you will probably want to know what your going to get. I am a long time Guild Wars fan (first couple months of the original GW1 release) and I am fairly knowledgeable and skilled in PvE. (7k achievement, legendary, 4 lvl 80s, etc.) I rarely do WvW and almost never do PvP. My main character is an Ele which is what I am on most of the time. Other 80s are Mes, War and Guard, however I won’t claim to be experienced with any of those. Eventually I’ll have each of the professions to 80.

In RL I am recently a new father, between that and my some times erratic work schedule there is further need for the ideal guild to be casual (I can be out of the country for a couple weeks at a time, albeit rarely). I typically log into GW2 daily, if for nothing else, to complete my dailies However, I could certainly see myself being on more if there is a good group of people to run with.

I plan to stay on the NA Northern Shiverpeaks server for now, but would consider jumping to another for the right guild (maybe after we finish those Arah runs).

Hey! We talked ingame a bit. Here’s the guild info I promised to post for you:

Roses of the Moonlight Sigil [RoMS].(Sorrow’s Furnace)

In short, we are a casual PvE/PvX guild that emphasizes mature and respectful behavior on the part of our members (though a humorous/crazy streak is encouraged). We’re very laid-back about how people play the game, and don’t throw a fit if someone isn’t decked out in all exotic/ascended items and don’t necessarily know everything in the game. We’re relaxed, we teach, we chat and have fun together. That’s what it’s all about. (As an added bonus, it’s an extremely rare occasion that I have to deal with any sort of guild drama).

We generally do weekly Guild Bounties and WvW, as well as other random (and occaisionally whacky) events thrown in for variety.

At the moment, we have 15-30 people who login and represent RoMS on a daily basis, as well as a couple friendly guilds who we often muster with if not enough players are available for a particular activity. We’re most active in the evenings based on Central time zones, but happy to expand our activity at other times.

For voice, we typically use vent, but mostly only for WvW or sometimes dungeons. (Speaking is not required) Please be aware that RoMS does have an application that it requires for new members, to ensure that we get people who fit the guild’s philosophy. Additionally, the guild is PG/Family-friendly, and no swearing or explicit content is allowed.

Maybe we are your holy grail?

We have lots of dungeon masters, run every dungeon practically daily, and we can certainly get you through all the Arah paths. We also are not like ZOMG U R NOT ZERKER WAR? KICK~ (I run things on my thief, they are THAT accepting :P)

We are certainly big enough that you never have to pug (unless you want something and you’re impatient) but small enough (< 70 people) that you know everyone. I usually refer to my members by their real first name!

We do goofy things like quaggan stampedes in WvW (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKVYs2nZ85w) and jumping puzzle races.

Oh we have a good handful of people over FotM 30+

We have one person with 9k+ achievement points, the guild in total has 17? legendaries, but we are 100% not elitist and casual (“semi-hardcore”). I think you’d fit in. :P

We are life friendly. We have people who are in the military, new parents, or just have crazy school/work schedules. If you let us know you will be gone, we won’t remove you.

And we’ll make you like WvW and PvP… even if it’s just a tiny tiny bit! (We have a few PvE only players though so you won’t be alone).
