Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone!

I’m getting back after a huge break. Last year I played GW2 during BWEs and a month or two after release. I was really excited about WvWvW, but my old computer couldn’t handle it. Now I have new hardware and am eager to try everything GW2 has to offer. Of course doing it alone would be boring, so I’m looking for a nice community.

Experience
My experience in GW2 is almost non-existant, even though I have 2 characters at 80 level. I will definitely need help with dungeons, events and everything else. But I have pretty good MMORPG past: WoW (played it since Vanilla, been a class officer, member of guild council, raid leader, decent arena player, all that jazz), LOTRO (mainly played it for roleplaying; made a few server wide roleplay events), Rift (just tried it, didn’t even get to max level). Of course WoW is the game I spent most time in. I tried almost everything it had to offer: different playstyles (tanking, healing, dpsing), different classes, PvE (I had a year of really hardcore gameplay), PvP (world PvP when it existed, BGs, arena). Although currently I’m not playing any game besides GW2.

Character info
I have 2 characters at 80 level (current home server is Gandara):
1. Ranger (name: Dakris). This is my main character as of now. He is geared with exotics (craft + TP). Mix of berserker and knight gear.
2. Warrior (name: Ragnar Sigurdson). My 1st character. Even though I know warriors are usually more welcome to parties than rangers, I don’t think I’ll play him. Geared with 3-4 exotics and some quest gear.

Playstyle
I usually don’t play much, but when I do… ;-) Indeed, right now I’m a newbie (just a few days since I’m back!). But what I’m aiming to is to be «casual but dedicated». In WoW I’ve always been min-maxing. It seems GW2 gives players a bit more freedom and diversity. Currently playing ranger I like to be at max range doing heavy damage and relying on my party to keep enemies away from me. Classic archer. For me this build seems pretty effective in WvWvW. Oh, right! I forgot to say that my main focus is on WvWvW right now. 1500 range seems to be really useful at both offensive and defensive gameplay. But, well, I’m a newbie, and experienced rangers might say that I’m doing everything wrong :-) I also want to try bunker build. Actually I’m open to any suggestions and willing to try any build that will be useful for the team. Yes, I’m a team player.

PvE, PvP or PvX
Definetely PvX. I want to try everything GW2 has to offer. Right now I’m enjoying WvWvW most of all. But I’d really like to try competitive PvP and dungeons. Although most of my time will still go to WvWvW I think.

Personal info
I’m 25 and I’m Russian. Hence why my ranger’s pet is a bear :-p Just kidding. I don’t use bears. I work in advertising and marketing in a pretty large company you might have heard of: Yandex (russian searh engine). And I didn’t practice my English for a long time. Hopefully this topic doesn’t look too horrible. I live in GMT+4, but that shouldn’t be a huge problem.

What I’m looking for
I’m not a guild hopper. In WoW I’m still in the guild I joined about 4 years ago (though as I said I don’t play it anymore). What I’m looking for is a strong and nice community of players. «A place to call home» as they say. Active guild chat, WvWvW groups, maybe dungeon and PvP groups. Website is crucial. Having a website means a guild is really serious, and forum contributes to socializing like nothing else (otherwise where can you show that new and awesome picture of a cat to your guildmates?). Besides website makes planning events so much easier, and you don’t have to log in to check the schedule.

• Dungeons – Some dungeon running. Activity will increase as we recruit new members and our low levels reach 80.
• Fractals – Same as above. Our most active runners are at level 3-5.
• World Bosses – We often report active bosses and kill most of them on a nightly basis.
• Representing – We do not require 100% representation, but atleast 75+-%.

Hello, Pavel! I agree that forums are definitely crucial. Especially for those cat pictures. We’ve got a thread 3 pages long right now on our forums just for pictures of cute cats. Or dogs. Or cute cats and dogs together. I even posted some turtles, because hey! Turtles are awesome.

But anyway! I think you’d really like it with us in Remnants of Hope. We love helping people with dungeons and events and stuff. And we regularly do all of that, plus we have a calendar on our forums where any member can schedule an event and ask others to RSVP. (Also, we love bears. Like, a lot.) Equinox Solstice [TIME] is an semi-hardcore PvX guild formed on 18-February-2013, based in Crystal Desert that aims to foster interest in all aspect of the game (sPvP, WvWvW and PvE), seeking for players that are fun-loving, outgoing and self-motivated.

Within a short 3.5 months, [TIME] has become a fully upgraded guild which can be considered an significant progress.

Hello Pavel, my fellow ranger!

I would like to introduce Askew Krewe to you. We are a small guild on Tarnished Coast and Crystal Desert with some 25 members. We have American and European players so whatever timezone you’re in, you should find someone online. Our “daily active” core is rather small but we have friends in other guilds and other servers to do stuff with.

Because of our guild’s size we are like family to each other. If you need help with something (story quest, a jumping puzzle, a dungeon,…), just ask in guild chat and someone will probably jump to your aid. We have people with 100% map completion, Dungeon Master titles, Fractals of the Mists level 28 unlocked etc. As you can see, we focus mainly on PvE, but we have some experience in PvP and WvW as well.

We have people who have been playing MMORPGs and other games for years and others who had never played one before GW2. And we have all been GW2 newbies at some point, so don’t be afraid to ask us for help.

Are we mature? I guess that depends on the situation. We are all students and/or have jobs. We know and understand that you have to afk sometimes because your child woke up. We treat everyone with respect. But we also engage in shenanigans and general silliness.
