One of the reasons why I’m playing less on the top tiers is because of the queue times + skill lag.

The fights you get do not differ that much. Some more advanced tactics if you find the right people to run with. Otherwise I’d take a no queue, skill lag less fight over moving to top tiers.

Large alliance with 4 guilds looking to move into top tier servers. We have 400+ members between all 4 guilds.

Servers we are looking at are Jade Quarry, Blackgate, Sanctum of Rall and Tarnished Coast.

Obviously we are looking for help in our transfer, as in gold, and guilds to lend time to get our influence up. The server we choose must use Teamspeak as the community VOIP.

Our guilds consist of people from all time zones. Are main focus is Oceanic, SEA and Euro.

I am a casual SEA wvwer from SOR, and i am heartened to see that your guilds’ main focus is in the SEA, Oceanic, and Euro timezone.

Our server uses Teamspeak as our community VOIP.

SOR has always been chronically weak in the SEA and Oceanic timezone, and people like me would definitely appreciate more aid at not get steamrolled during our weekday nights.

i honestly think they should go to TC or a 4th server outisde the tier 1, they are stacked as is.

please either go to TC/FA/DB to make it more competetive rather than going to SOR/BG/JQ.

Please don’t go to an already stacked server.

Crystal Desert or Sea of Sorrows are moving up in their tiers but currently lack the numbers to remain at top competition with TC. Considering TC got crushed by SoR last week, I suggest strengthening a lower tier server rather than flee to a top tier. What you will find is a lack of fun.

GL with whatever T1 server you pick. If you want to push TC further up in bracket I recommend them over any other T1 server since the others are stacked to the brink of breaking already.

If you ever rethink of T2-3 servers think of SoS. We can get the community leaders to chat with you. We don’t have any queues on any borderland and already have great oceanic coverage but lack EU/SEA/NA. Your arrival would round the server off even more where we can enjoy any T2/T3 matchup without the skill lag / egoes / server hopping guilds etc.

Im a officer from AFS and we transfer to SOR a few months back. We are a small WvW guild but we work hard at what we do. We would like to have a new guild on our team. I think SOR provides all the necessary tools you mention. As you know SOR is the #2 most used TS server so you know we be chatting things up in TS.

SOR Oceanic, SEA and EURO are made of small but relentless group of people. My guild AFS had manage to hold JQ hills for 5 days in their borderlands until the server bugged come up with the no siege day where JQ numbers overwhelm us.

I hope to see in the battlefield no matter which side you guys join in the end. Good luck with you choices.

Fort Aspenwood likely meets all your requirements as they do have a heavily used Teamspeak server, and they probably would commit some fundraising. Their Oceanic and SEA timeslots have plenty of space for you guys to make a name for yourselves and carve your niche in the community.

Not only that, but Fort Aspenwood is probably the easiest server in the top tiers to transfer to. It is rarely ever “Full,” even during NA prime. There’s no need to organize any kind of blackout or spend weeks waiting for the right moment; your transfer is only limited by the flow of gold.

If you check the current scores of the T1, you will notice that BG is #1, SoR is #2, JQ is #3.
The reason why JQ is #3 is we lost a lot of people that switched servers, some stopped going into WvW, and BG / SoR recruited a lot of guilds into their server.

BG has by far the most WvW guilds in any server.
Most of the day no one is at Blackgate’s BL because we don’t have enough to cap anything and i’m saying this from an oceanic time zone perspective usually play from 10am-10pm, and they would have 20-30 on their BL and our BL or even more.

Jade Quarry uses TS3 for communication, we have strong late NA and SEA but not EU/Oceanic.

BG is PvX heavy (most of which are PvE-focused, mind you), not WvW heavy. SoR has us sorely out-guilded WvW-wise, whether our overall population is higher or not. Takes 5 minutes of pulling guilds off the top of your head to realize that.

That said, this alliance should transfer to T2, not T1. T1 has enough people as it is and T2 needs some seriously balancing help.

I recommend you look at FA, TC, DB or Maguuma. Just keep in mind whatever you pick, you will almost certainly be PvDooring with 400 transfers in the Oceanic/SEA/Euro timezone.

No matter which server you choose, trolls from all the other servers involved will cry about stacking servers and imbalancing tiers (even though there are no tiers anymore). My guild transferred to BG several weeks ago and it has been an absolute blast.

At the end of the day, you have to choose the server that you and your community will be happy on. If you choose BG, I will consider you all teammates. If you choose any other server, you will all be loot bags. Choose wisely.

BG could use some Euro coverage, but are strong during oceanic/sea
JQ could also use Euro and oceanic but they are strongest during sea
SoR could use oceanic and sea but have the strongest Euro coverage

personally i would love to see you on TC,FA,SoS or DB to help create another 4th viable tier 1 contender and perhaps further recruit some EU transfers to NA servers

but send some untagged people to the servers you are thinking of transferring and get a feel for each server

I would like to recommend you guys look at FA and Mag closely, the impact you guys can make during Oceanic/SEA/Euro times on these servers will be immense!

Although DB could always have more Oceanic and Euro as well

I recommend you take any posts about specific servers from users who are not from that particular server with a grain of salt.

I know you are mostly considering NA servers, but you might also consider Desolation. We are a top English-speaking EU server, currently fighting against Visunah Square (EU rank #1 for months), a French-speaking server.

We have a very nicely organized server wide TeamSpeak , which has many different sub channels for each WvWvW borderlands and EB (supply groups, alpha, bravo group), dungeons, pvp, world events, major guilds, meetings. You can in game whisper me for permissions.

We have weekly meetings with representatives from different guilds. I cannot speak for other guilds, but I remember that in weekly meetings our leaders mentioned about covering part of the transfer cost (but not full cost), if we are sure you will remain on our server, despite the bad and good times.

Few facts about Desolation:
- best pvp players, just look at this list https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/eu/pvp
- very big pve community
- despite we lost many major guilds to other servers (e.g. Iron Triangle moved to Sanctum of Rall), we still got several top WvWvW guilds + commanders, who are respected by our opponents (just ask them). E.g. Eternal Invictus [INVI] <- ex-Eternal Iron, Team Unit [Unit], Afterlife [AFTL] just to mention few.

I could link you lots of videos how we fight.

Our biggest problem is lack of coverage. We do well on prime time (evening on EU), but when we go to bed enemy has night teams to capture our structures.

Normally there are no queues, despite we are huge server. In prime time there is usually a 30 minute queue to Eternal Battlegrounds, but no queue to other maps. But since you are mostly NA based, you would probably be fighting against the night and morning capping teams of the enemy. Our morning coverage is slowly becoming a bit better thanks to European players from our own ranks, but more help would be appreciated.

I cannot promise easy wins, since we are most likely going to be placed against the toughest and most highly populated WvWvW servers in this game in the following weeks as well. We want to drop down tiers, thus we don’t defend much anything at the moment, but the new random match making can give us anything next week. Even in times of being completely overwhelmed by the massive enemy mobs, you can farm fast WXP ranks, get so many loot bags that you wish you had bigger bags. Anycase you are going to learn more from playing at Desolation than any other WvWvW server at the moment. I have friends at other servers and some are already moving here / moved back here.

So the devs want to move away from a zerg heavy metagame but they remove the population caps of the most stacked servers allowing them to become even more stacked?

I regularly play during oceanic hours and I’ve been in tiers 2-4 recently and I can tell you there are plenty of oceanics/SEA in all three tiers. It’s a myth that all tiers below one are all PvDoor. I see very active forces at all times of the day (with an exception for some servers during euro hours) in every tier I’ve been in.

Go to JQ they lost a couple guilds to DB and they could use that help against BG and SoR for a better matchup for them.

If you insist on queues and skill lag, join JQ. They could use the organized guilds to compete with SoR and BG. They have a lot of fairweathers just like BG and will come out when the server is winning.

Otherwise, I would suggest joining FA, TC, or DB. FA for decent number of organized wvw guilds in NA and Oceanic timezones. TC for being the closest T1 contender with all around coverage. DB for strong SEA , weak EU and a lot of fairweather NA.

A majority of SoS aren’t interested in T1 again because of the massive blobs of zerg running 24/7 and we agreed on not helping fund large guild alliances. Medium and small guilds are fine. Our community TS3 participation is ever increasing.

They won’t be facing queues on JQ, they might find one map queued during SEA prime, but that will be it. We currently have one organized guild playing at oceanic times (TKG ), and no EU guilds(even though we have some dedicated people trying to compensate the lack of coverage here ) to compete with the other 2 servers. We received a EU transfer yesterday, but as far as I know It’s a temporary situation. JQ would be a nice choice for your guilds. If you wish more info you can contact some of the people that were mentioned on this thread already, or PM me as well. ( I play during EU times, and early/mid NA )

Blackgate could seriously use some EU coverage. At the moment it’s RK (15-20) plus some pugs/militia vs much bigger numbers and we’re bouncing between maps trying to make some difference against the odds.

I wouldn’t come to BG if you are mostly non-EU players though

I think the fairweathers xferred off JQ already. Perhaps a few already popping into BG and SOR? Remember, fairweathers are not used to being in 3rd. They want #1 and at minimum #2 spot… Some might even be in DB since they think JQ was falling off a cliff and decided to jump ship first. It’s all a pre-emptive move like what they did to HOD, ET, SBI, SOS, KN… If free transfers exists, I’m sure a lot of folks will now be in BG.

Anyways, JQ seems to hold pretty strong even with guilds and players that left the server. And in some instances, decided to retire from the game… JQ tends to make a comeback and they are in need of almost all timezones.

Lets end the super stacking and get 4 real contenders. Stacking a top three server with 400+ more is ridiculous when you have the power to bring a server that’s close up to par.

And I’m from BG.

Our core set of players on JQ remains strong, and are committed to the server for the long-haul. I think this is definitely what has kept us from becoming another casualty like SoS/KN/SBI, etc. All in all, we haven’t lost that many guilds in our history as a server. This goes to show that people seem to genuinely love it here, and care about the JQ community.

I honestly feel my opponents in T1 are all for even coverage, to help us all have the best matchup as possible whenever we meet. With this in mind, we could use the most help compared to SoR (and BG, tho BG seems to not be on your radar). Hell, even SoR players have been trying to get us coverage, if that tells you anything We should all aim for the healthiest matchup as possible, so that the outcome is closer to being more skill-based, and less “muahaha my blob is bigger than your blob!”.

Please do not transfer to NA at all. You will imbalance the tiers and will experience a metagame far behind EU. NA strategy is simply to gather enough people to zerg enemies with little regard to real group comps and team synergy.

If they are as large and strong as they claim, they will bring any NA Server they transfer to up to at least T2 if not “T1.5” strength (stronger than any T2 but not competitive with T1).

Think about it – a single strong EU Guild transferred to SoR ([IRON]) and completely changed the dynamics of T1. DB dominated T3 largely on the strength of the SEA without having any EU coverage to speak of and an NA force that currently drops below both Mags and FA during primetime.

If this group goes to JQ they will likely restore it to the #1 Ranking with the SoR and BG possibly still competitive with their coverage. Anywhere else and they will only face competition when facing JQ/SOR/BG.

This is what i have noticed having played NA since beta and recently transferred over to EU. More is done with less, and often with spectacular results. I find it more thrilling, actually.

That said, I can understand the desire not to pv-door. I haven’t been matched up with all servers in EU, only a handful so far, and the thing that EU seems to lack is 24/7 coverage. However, you should realize that with this new RNG matchup, there’s no guarantee you won’t be pv-dooring on NA either. We are seeing such funky matches … much like EU too … that there’s no guarantee you won’t be facing a T3 server on some matches, even if you move to a T1 NA server.

And the gap between server coverage/population between the NA tiers is significant .. T1 to T2? T2 server struggles to compete because it lacks the full coverage, and the T1 server facing the T2 server winds up getting horribly bored. At all hours of the day, not just oceanic. T2 to T3 is yet another significant population gap, and the same thing repeats. I’m not sure how it works EU-side, but the differences between the tiers in terms of population for fair RNG fights are significant.

Given how chaotic the matchups are, I’m more concerned you are “grass is greener” in this instance. And if it’s your permanent final move .. well then just be 100% sure.

Well it depends, “400” people is usually bout 80-100 online at any time, that’s 1 BL, across 3 major time frames which brings they number down a little more. Everyone exaggerates numbers, remember when KWBH was “200 members” or whatever they claimed to be.

It would be a shame if they went to anyone in T1-3… we need more servers in the mix with good coverage, not less with insane coverage.

[IRON] as a Guild I think only fields around 30 usually (though can easily pick up other unguilded people to form a 50-60 man Zerg) and as I said they completely changed the balance in T1 before BG got some of [HB] back this week and JQ has [RG] visiting.

Trust me, most servers receiving an average of 30 dedicated, skilled WvWers across 3-4 timezones will suddenly find themselves at T2 levels of coverage/performance.

This matchmaking system stays crap the more of a disparity there is between each tier. Stop. Quit screwing everything up.

Since the goal is to be in T1, working for that with TC would bring better competition, and allow for T1 servers to rotate more.

Breaking a Tier with blowout matches would reduce participation, and not be healthy for WvW.

I agree…. Cohesiveness is important to build lasting bonds in WvW and increase effectiveness. Thus far you are doing little to show that you alliance plans on facilitating a healthy working relationship with the server you transfer to. Furthermore in addition to your perceived “problems” with DB and TC I personally feel like we are getting along just fine as we are now learning more every week. I wish you the best of luck wherever you end up, and it it happens to be TC. I hope you leave your kitten in the EU server you leave, ours is large enough as it is.
