Im a player from Darkhaven server and have been since launch. Im to the point where i cant take it anymore. Darkhaven has a serious problem with not defending anything we have no one places siege no one upgrades we just trade one tower for another constantly and we get nowhere. I was wondering if any servers out there have a strong focus on defense especially on their own BL and their Main towers in EB. Im sick of spending hours sieging up a place and upgrading it only to have no one come when i call for ppl to defend it. So i guess im looking for a more defense oriented guild or server. Hi there! I think you’d be a good fit for League of Extraordinary Siegers [LEXS] on SBI.

First, a little about what LEXS does:
1. Home BL defense, first and foremost.
2. Upgrading keeps and towers.
3. Sieging keeps and towers.

You would fit in on Maguuma. We love field fights away from siege but borderland defense is a serverwide culture, always the #1 priority. It’s not about any single guild or individual, if the borderland are in serious danger, pretty much everyone will know about it and come to assist if needed. Whether through map chat or public server mumble.

Our keeps regularly go for days, even the entire week without being captured. The only common exception is strong oceanic servers with sheer numbers that Mag’s relatively small night crew can’t always stop. Even then, you’ll always see the garrison massively sieged to hold out overnight and it often will on weekdays. Mag is really only looking for oceanic time zone or NA night/morning owls at this point though I’m sure you would be welcome regardless.

I have to agree about Mag. They lock their borderland down really well. Major respect. Plus, if they get stuck in gold, it’ll be constant defense.

Another recommendation for CD for your new home! I can attest that the training classes are NICELY DONE. This past weekend my wife and I ran with hmsgoddess learning about BL defense (well she ran while I listened and played with the kids).

CD does sound like a good mid-tier option.

If you are willing to look at lower tiers, then ET has a pretty good group of people who run upgrades, including on camps, and even walk dolyaks when necessary. Our commanders are also generally responsive to defense calls, even to camps, unless in the middle of something more important, and we do a pretty good job of holding our core keeps and towers. I would welcome more defensive players to join those of us already doing it. Last night, one of our recent transfers commented on our strong defense, something I’d mentioned in the recruitment posts that brought him to ET.

When we do lose towers or camps, it’s generally because we are greatly outnumbered (that happens on the lower tiers due to matchup imbalances), had a hole in the coverage (overnight and afternoons is usually when we lose some things), or didn’t have someone watching the site so it was too late once swords appeared on the map. That last point is where a defense-minded player can make a big difference. And that’s one of the things I like about lower-tier play. Every player matters as much as they want to because there are plenty of things that need doing, including defense. And even when ET is outnumbered, we fight and defend to the point of holding a tower or keep even after the enemy has entered the lord’s room (successfully more often than I’d expect).

And to address what some people have said about other servers, nobody on ET talks about deliberately leaving a tower or keep undefended so that it will flip easily to get loot and karma for retaking it. Yes, we’ll sometimes write off a hard-to-hold tower if there is something more urgent going on, but we don’t deliberately loose things.

Defense on our server is stretched to the limit right now after the transfers and with all the rewards in this game being handed out to the zergblob that just flips keeps all day long, not many stick around to defend now. “While we’ve seen a bit of ET recently, it hasn’t been without a dominating force hanging over our heads (IoJ/KN) so this is a little different. ET as a whole seems much more organized especially defensively. Their BL is no longer just a bunch of paper towers waiting to be taken – they’ve got upgrades and frequently ready siege and I frequently see camps with upgraded supply output and defenders reacting quickly. I think they’re doing the best organization wise of any server in this match up by far but I’ve seen a lot of inexperienced players who aren’t used to the new order and the coverage still is spotty.” – kurath.9406

Wow , you sound like a CD defensive maniac type, [AFP] of Crystal Desert will just fit you , all them heroes stay on CD BL 24/7 , there is one night when you run naked making sure CD BL is okay and hard core upgrading/communication through help calls WHILE having fun , you sir ..i’m looking forward to see.

Never outmanned in our bl, great communication between guilds over TS and commitment to keep our stuff (they get mad at you from setting regular defensive siege instead of superior in important towers), you will find all that here.

My answer to this one liner is another one:

The strongest offence comes from a strong defence.

I love all the contacts from people I have been getting. I am sorry if sometimes I have been distracted when you contact me. The best time to talk to me is when I first log and before I get busy.
