Guild Wars 2

I have played many mmo’s throughout the years. The list includes SWG, EQ2, Vanguard, LOTRO, Warhammer, AoC, and many more. I typically float towards the PvP aspect of games, but I’m simply interested in getting to know what this game has to offer as my long time game, LOTRO, is finally starting to die off.

I’m a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy on sea duty. As such, I can’t devote massive amounts of time to the game, but I like to spend my evenings playing when I am not on duty or at sea. I am a 37 year old father of 5 (all teenagers….please kill me). I was also a submariner for 18 years before my final tour on an aircraft carrier so I will say that sometimes my humor and language are not PG, but I try to keep most of that behind the mic using push-to-talk as I know many people use speakers instead of headsets.

What I am looking for is a group of great people that like to help each other out and don’t necessarily mind a noob as far as this game goes. I prefer guilds that use voice chat (Discord is my favorite, but I have TS3, Vent, and Mumble) as the company during grinds or coordination in raids/PvP is much easier. I am currently messing around on a Revenant, but am still not sure which route I will go for my main. I typically play archer classes or assassins. My characters are currently on Dragonbrand.

Have a look. We are (mostly) in your age group. Noob friendly because we are small (helping is what we do on a daily basis). I get the Navy time commitment so just ignore the stuff about playtime requirements, your situation would be completely understandable. We are mainly focused on recruiting people who will become our friends and have a good time playing not just characters in a game to fill groups. We are not raid sized but I have some connections to guilds who are if you need to get your raid on! Thank you for serving!
