[NA] LFGuild on GoM; new player, casual, PvE+
Hiya, Gideon!
Welcome to Tyria! Guilds are definitely a good way to go for exploring the game. I know you’re looking for a guild on Gates of Madness, but if you’re not planning on doing much WvW (or you’re willing to transfer), you can be on any server in the same region (such as North America).
So if you’re interested in other servers, I wanted to mention my guild, Ember Solace. We’re a PvX guild on Tarnished Coast (a North American server), and we definitely have a casual environment that understands students. Plus, we love teaching people and helping out, so we’d totally enjoy holding your hand through things. =)
Also, we’re an LGBTQ guild (with about half allies), and I’m trans, so we’re super friendly and a safe space for transgender people.
We have an application (not about gear/level/expertise, but to weed out trolls and keep the guild safe), and we’re 100% rep (if you’re not familiar with the term, we can explain ^^ ).
I’d love for you to check out our guild forums. Registering gives you read-access to the GW2 sections of the forums, and you can read our Purpose & Principles and fill out an Application if you’re interested. ^^
I hope we hear from you soon!
I would also like to give you a plug for our guild, Chariot of Fire [FIRE]. We are a family-friendly, Christian PvX guild that is homed on the community-oriented Northern Shiverpeaks server. What is a family-friendly, Christian guild? This means that we follow a Biblically-based set of standards of conduct that create an environment that is built on respect, clean conversation, and positive attitudes. We want a gaming environment that players of all ages can participate, from young players to older gamers. And, the majority of our members are born-again Christians and provide the core of our membership family.
We are a PvX guild that dabbles heavily in WvW. We raid three times a week (Fri/Sat/Wed) with Wednesdays designated as a training raid, aimed at teaching basic WvW to our newer players, as well as refining more complex tactics and strategies on he battlefield for those desiring to become more seasoned. We do NOT have a profession/gear/race requirement, however over time, we do guide and assist in the progression of new player characters so that in time, they can be optimal in their build. This is part of the teaching and training we do!
Outside of WvW, we do participate in many other PvE activities on a casual basis. We see activity in dungeons and fractals, Silverwastes, boss farming, as well as map exploration and EOTM leveling. We have Mondays designated for our weekly Guild Meeting + Prayer Time + Guild Missions. Additionally, we are working to form a sPvP Fellowship Night on Sunday evenings.

Hope you have an outstanding day!
