What I am looking for in a Guild
- PvE-Centered
I am mainly a PvE player, however I do tend to do some PvP and EotM, and am familiar with their structure and mechanics. World Exploration and Bosses are my strong suit, however I am also willing to do a Dungeon or Fractal once in a while.
- Casual members willing to lend a hand
I would prefer to be in a community, not a military. An ideal Guild would consist of Leaders being Teachers, rather than being Rankers. Future group motivation should be based on having fun, instead of bragging about events that happened in the past. Quality over Quantity is a must, and I would like to connect with members on a personal level.
- Loosely based event schedule
Events should not be mandatory, and should allow members to hop in and out as they please. It is much more appealing to see a “Hey there! Glad you could join us!” rather than a “Why are you 15 minutes late?” in party chat.
- Mature, with a sense of humor
Talking in complete sentences and giving constructive criticism is key to a mature environment. This does not mean that the occasional joke is forbidden, as it is always good to have a laugh once in a while. Members should respect other’s feelings and focus on fun over perfection.
About Myself
- In-Game
I love PvE and World Bosses, along with map exploration and The Silverwastes for casual farming. I currently have five characters that I am playing: (From most to least experience) a Thief, a Ranger, an Engineer, a Guardian, and a Warrior. I prefer to learn from my mistakes and have others help me along the way, instead of being criticized for incorrect performance. I am relatively familiar with the WvW system (From time spent in EotM) and PvP (From completing dailies). I wish to do more about PvE’s Dungeons and Fractals, as I could never get a solid group to learn from. I would prefer a Guild to not require 100% Rep, although I will most likely be representing the Guild anyways.
- Out of Game
I am able to use just about any VoIP service, along with IRC and Forums. I prefer not to speak, and rather listen and type. Weekdays I am usually active from 16:00 to 21:00, Saturdays from 13:00 to 22:00, and Sundays 19:00 to 21:00 (All times are in EST). Again, I am looking for a community, so I am completely fine with day to day talk and joking around.
- Five random facts
Relative to the time this topic is posted, I have only been playing GW2 for two months.
My main language is English, although I am competent with speaking in French from time to time.
I love basically everything about the STEM fields, and hope to expand that to a career base in my future.
I chose Sylvari Thief as my first character because my friend was one.
GW2 is my first MMO, and so far, it has been amazing!
Conclusion
If you have read this far, I hope I have not bored you too much. As this is my first time advertising myself looking for a Guild, feel free to tell me if I forgot any crucial information. If your Guild meets (Or exceeds) my specifications, send me a message on here or in-game and tell me more about your Guild! I will be finalizing my decision on Friday, October 23rd at 22:00EST.
