Guild Wars 2

Hello! I joined Guild Wars 2 two weeks ago and would like to join a smaller size guild, mainly to do PvE and make some friends! I have minimal experience and knowledge with the game, but am open to learn from older players as long as we can have fun doing so. :]

-Occupation: College student (so play time is irregular, but usually present for the most part if schoolwork permits).

-Location: East Coast US.

Hope to get some requests soon! Would love to try Explorable Dungeons without the dreadful hate in certain dungeon parties. And learning PvP and WvW would be nice too.

Also, I’m not fond of talking via voice chat, so I won’t be doing that. I also am not very fond to those large copy+paste guild recruitment information posts, they just come off intimidating, overwhelming, and somewhat uncaring to me, so please avoid posting those. Thanks!

Hiya, Shadowstarkirby! (Can I call you Kirby, or would you prefer Shadow?) Welcome to Guild Wars 2!

I think you might like my guild, Ember Solace. We are on the smaller side, with about 70 members but about 15-20 on at one time. We’re on Tarnished Coast, but you wouldn’t have to transfer because you can still do everything with us from Darkhaven, except for WvW. We do help pay for some of the transfer cost, though, so if you decided to transfer later, we could help.

Oooh, college! We have several college students, and we definitely understand how that can make it tough to play. We have a Leave of Absence policy where if you’re going to be gone for a couple weeks or more, you can just make a post letting us know (Finals are around the corner for many, so some of our college students have done this).

We’re 100% rep (not sure if you’ve come across this term yet, but it basically means that even though you can be in up to 5 guilds in GW2, we require our members to just stick to one guild: ours), and we have an application. Please don’t feel intimidated by the application; it’s not about gear or gaming experience or stuff like that. It’s actually designed to help us get to know you better and make sure our guild stays friendly and welcoming to people.

Explorable dungeons are so much fun! Two of our PvE Assistants, Kiore and Speitzer, are working on putting together a regular dungeon group so people can experience the dungeons and have lots of fun. We ran TA forward and CoE story the other night, and it was a great experience, with everyone getting to watch the cut scenes and having fun. ^^

Although we do have TS3, we don’t require anyone to use it. Sometimes people will be on TS to listen but just not talk, and just type replies in guild chat. Other times, people will not get on TS at all, and will just use guild chat and party chat to communicate.

About The Guild
Remnants of Hope was founded on June 7, 2009. Originally a Star Wars Galaxies guild, we have since moved on to play GW2, SWTOR and Wildstar, while continuing to have an active, positive presence in our games. We not only help guild members enjoy the PvE content of GW2 but to assist them in improving and advancing their characters and personal skills within the game. We are always willing to provide advice/guidance on gearing and traiting different professions. Keep in mind that we don’t have all the answers, but we will help find them! We hope to see you in-game and in our events soon! We do dungeons, fractals, guild missions weekly, jumping puzzles, casual levelling groups, farming runs and living story content.

PvP
We encourage fun and friendly competitive gaming to both the fans of PvP gaming, and those curious about it. We are always willing to lend a hand with builds, classes, and general information about how the various forms of PvP are handled. Whether it be World vs World, Team Player vs Player, or just some mini games, the PvP Department is always striving to be a welcoming, fun, and laid back place for people to smash in a face or two!

RP
We provide our members with an immersive and fun experience for the new roleplayer to the seasoned writer alike. Whether it be in-game or on the forums, we want to promote imagination and storytelling that spans beyond just the Remnants of Hope guild borders. By working closely with other guilds, as well as our other GW2 Departments within RoH and organizing events with them, we aim for a continuous living story that people can get involved in and help to continue shaping.

Playing GW2 Socially or Casually
Although we have members doing progression fractals and working on legendaries, we also have many members who play when they have time, or enjoy the simpler pleasures in GW2 like levelling slowly or going on random adventures. We also have a very inviting approach when it comes to difficult content: many of our members are happy to bring along a “newbie” to dungeons or new content, but there’s no pressure for you to join events you aren’t interested in!

First off welcome to GW2! Secondly, I want to warn you we are a VOIP focused guild and I know you don’t care for that. But if you wanted to give it another shot we would love to have you with us. I used to not like VOIP as well but after some time I finally broke down and learned to accept it. Now I can’t game w/out it. Every long term gaming friend I have now is due to the bonds created over a voice program and we travel from game to game together. Anyways, here is my “sell”:

Fools N Gold [FNG] is a very small tight knit PvX guild (NA) on Tarnished Coast. We focus on an adult casual environment. Most of our socializing is done on our Vent server and since most of the guild works our primary activity is in the evenings. We are always talking on Vent about tv shows, books or something going on ingame. Help, companionship and advice is never too far away.
